Did you attempt to only eat one egg?

I struggled with eggs from the beginning and even at 4 months out. I find that if I put some steak sauce on a scrambled egg it slides down easier.

Yup. It also depends on how far out you are. At 4 weeks, half an egg and half a yogurt was about my max. Now I can eat a full egg with a piece of turkey bacon :-)

yep completely normal! I couldn't eat an entire egg until 4- 5 months out

however for lunch yesterday at 11 months out I had 2 eggs and 1 slice of toast...... so it does certainly change

I would love to try an egg. I'm now 10 days sleeved. I would if it would be ok. I've had surgery on july 3rd and have lost 22lbs so far. I can drink 3 whole Water bottles a day without problems. I also drink my Protein Shakes without problem. What do you guys think? Should I try a egg.

My NUT ok'd soft scrambled egg at 2 weeks post op. I use liquid egg whites you get in a carton because I am not good at separating. I hate it when raw egg touches my fingers! Anyway, 3 tbsp of liquid egg whites is 5 G of Protein. I use I can't believe it's not butter spray on the pan and pour 9 tbsp in the pain and cook them until they are soft scrambled. I know it may be considered a "slider" food, but it's healthy and I think I don't digest things well in the morning so I need the extra "softness" of the eggs being soft scrambled, almost drippy. I chew to applesauce consistency and take my time. Breakfast takes me the longest of any meal, no matter if it's eggs or yogurt, or even a Protein Drink. My sleeve just doesn't like waking up! :)

Since my surgery eggs are the easiest thing for me to eat. But in the first month I barely ate one egg (w/cheese) as you heal you will be able a whole egg. Takes time. ;)

Only could eat half an egg

msvickee

I 'm not sure what "normal" is regarding anything, but...

I see many on the board that just can't deal with eggs, not sure what the reason is. maybe in a few months or so you will be able to eat an egg

in my case i am so lucky to be able to have my one scramble egg. ummmm it good I love eggs - i will sometimes make egg salad for lunch - yum yum

"the incredible edible egg" lol

good luck

kathy

Egg day 2: so I gave it another try today and used half a slice of 2% cheese and I was able to eat the entire scrambled egg this time. It took 30 mins but I got it down!

I had an egg (or a quarter) when I got back to San Diego - 5 days post op.

It was over very easy- and I took TINY bites and chewed that sucker up goooood! It was the best thing in the world for me! I finally started to feel better after I ate that ! :)

I think people try to scramble them too hard- and they dry out!

I had a hard time until I mixed some hot sauce with my egg. Oh Yummmmm. :)

And I would have never done that before, strange how we change what we like

I could only get 1/3 of an egg down after a month - I can now eat one egg over easy and a slice of turkey bacon (most days - sometimes it is just too much) - now scrambled eggs I seem to have a harder time with for some reason and cannot get much down at all. My husband who had his vsg two weeks before I did can eat 2 eggs.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
