Hit My First Goal I Set!

Recommended Posts

So I've been beating myself up because I had my surgery done on the 18th of June and was not seeing great #'s on the scale for weight loss, in fact one week after surgery I had a one pound weight loss. At two weeks a total of 7 lbs loss since surgery and I just hit the scale for my 3 week weigh in and low and behold I hit my 1st goal on my list of things I had set and that was to see onderland! I did it- 199.2 lbs. I haven't seen onderland in twenty years and did a little jig I was so excited. The great thing was my daughter who had just set the scale up and was getting on it told me not to look while she got on it ( she's 21 and weighs 125lbs) she let me see after she got off, was standing there and was almost as excited as I was. I had to grab my camera and send the pic to my husband. I am so stoked right now, I have been on so many diets over the years and the closest I have come to onderland was about 10 years ago I got to 201 and could never get below that number. I was able to lose quite a bit during my 6 months leading up to the surgery that put me in the category of most on this forum as being a lite weight but with the comorbidities it didnt matter if I had 60 lbs or 200lbs to lose it was detrimental that I lose it and I am so happy that I am on the right path of heading towards great health. By the way I have been able to come completely off my cholesterol medication which happened a few weeks before my surgery and I haven't had to have any of my medication for my diabetes since the night before surgery. Since the surgery I have eliminated 5 medications. So one goal down, I wonder how long before I hit another goal?

My citizenship into Onderland was hard fought for, too.

It's like that Paramore song "It feels so gooood".

Congrats and now that yousee how it can be, keep it in mid and try not to get down on yourself again. Be persistent. Good luck!

Erin 6573- my exercise right now consist of walking only right now. I live in Florida and the heat is my enemy right now as it drains everybit of energy I have right out of me but my husband being such a great support for me is walking with me just in case I pass out or something. Last week my Dr told me it was time to go ahead and start bringing softfoods into my diet to try to bring up my energy levels and get rid some of the dizziness that I've been feeling. It has helped. I'm now working on the issue of realizing when not to take that last bite that is too much.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
