3 Days Post-Op.. Incision Hurts Like Hell

Recommended Posts

Any suggestions to reduce incision pain (the one where they actually remove your stomach)or back pain?!?! It hurts like hell every time I have to get up out the bed. I tried stacking pillows to be elevated that's didn't help.. Sofa's to low also..

I normally sleep on my stomach & bc of this my back pain is horrendous....

Im starting week 3 and it is just now starting to get better. The only thing that helped me was a heating pad on the incision and going around to the back. I still do that at night. Ive started putting ice pack on my back after I realized it was muscle pain. My ricking chair helped some.

Thanks LookingAhead... I never thought of a heating pad- my mind's been in a daze since the surgery. I feel everything happened so quick & there's a 1,000 things to remember & do in a day. I'm looking forward to this incision healing :/

Right there with you on the back pain and incision pain. The other incisions are fine. I feel like my back is almost having spasms. I had surgery on the 5th. Misery loves company!!! Plus, why is that incision so "dimpled" looking???

Franfaith- I totally agree!!! I was looking at the incision & thought to myself it kind of reminds me of those decorative scissors that I used as a kid for cutting construction paper & whatnot haha.

If it wouldn't be for this main incision, I honestly couldn't even tell that I had surgery. The other cuts almost feel like mosquitoes bites if they do bother me. I had my surgery on the 6th & I'm so worried about blood clots bc they kept stressing that over & over. Thank God the nausea went away- I had to stay an extra day at the Hospital BC of it. Feel free to vent aka b***h to me any time this week bc I'm sure we'll be on the same page lol.. Hope ur feeling better ;)

So I pretty much slept semi sitting on my couch. :( and get this. I am accrualky sitting in a lawn chair in my living room now lol I look so funny But it's seems to be sturdy and in a position similar I a recliner. As far as pain when getting up yes!! I try to get my teen to help me but last night I didn't want to wake anyone so I sorta rolled off soda and I helped. It will get better :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
