11 Days Out And A New Pain?

Recommended Posts

So minus a little pulling on my left side when getting out of bed, I've been virtually pain free since coming home. However, yesterday I was sitting on the couch for a few minutes and when I stood up I got a SHARP pain in my gut what felt like it was about 1/2" to the left of my belly button (feels just barely under the skin). Ever since then, I get the pain every time I go to stand up and then again once I go from slightly hunched to fully upright. It is a super sharp pain that goes away real quick and ends with a slight burning sensation. I'm thinking muscle, but why now 11+ days out? BTW, that is also the only area that is still numb since the surgery.

Anyone have any idea's? Ever had something similar?

I had the same exact thing shortly after surgery. It lasted about 6 weeks, and yes my doctor said muscle and nerve endings. I am 2 months post op and am still pretty numb on the left side of my navel. Of course, if you are concerned you should call your surgeons office. :)

Six weeks?!

Yes, I plan to call them in the AM but I knew some people here would have a similar experience they could share. Thanks.

I had the same thing. Mine started on day 10, my surgeons office says there is a line of nerves right there and that 95% of their patients experience it. It is totally normal and lasts about 2 weeks on average. I can tell you that I am 3 weeks out now and it is starting to get better.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
