The bad news is, this is permanent, the good news is, this too shall pass after you find the right PPI. Your stomach is healing and producing a large amount of acid. It will get better, Just try and hang in there! :( that your throwing up. :)

Her surgery was June 2, 2012, just two days before mine.

Casey, I'm so sorry you are having so many issues. Are you only on liquids at the moment? Did this happen just on liquids or did you advance your diet up to purees, soft or regular food first?

I'm 5 weeks out tomorrow, and I am still on full liquids. I am sure it has to be so hard to deal with right now and I couldn't imagine throwing up every day.

What kind of doctor are you seeing since your surgeon is in Mexico. Are you seeing a gastroenterologist? They did another leak test? Is it lactose intolerance?

I bet it's a scary feeling for you and your child. I pray that things get better for you soon and please keep us updated. I will keep you in my thougths and prayers that things get better for you soon.

This scares me a little because I already have issues with my stomach. I take Nexium for the acid reflux. A few months ago my stomach hurt for 2 weeks straight. I went to the ER because I had enough of the pain, and they said it was a peptic ulcer. I'm worried that if I get this surgery, it's going to be even worse! :( I don't want to be sick and throwing up every day.

Scares me too. I had terrible morning sickness for 7 months each pregnancy. Lost weight up until it just stopped. I feel your pain. I literally slept in the bathroom because I couldnt stand the bucket and the smell. In the end I had a beautiful child, hopefully in the end you will be enjoying your new life with yours. I hope things get better soon. .

Oh I feel your pain. I truly do. I'm four months out and I'm still having problems with nausea and vomiting (and that yellow stuff is most likely bile as I have that issue too). I've gotten to the point that I just don't even try eating solids any more because I know they will make me sick. This has been going on for two months and it was only at a visit to my surgeon last week that he showed any concern. I did have an upper GI series done to see if I had a stricture, but that came out negative. So now I'm going to see a gastroenterologist to figure out what the heck is going on. Maybe that's an option for you? If you're following all of the rules and still getting sick check into it.

Hello Ladies,

I'm so sorry to hear about your difficulties following your surgeries. However, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who this has happen to. I am here to say it gets better. I'm 2 years out next month and have been through the mill and back with complications. Mine started out much like what you've described but continued to get worse. I was sick as a dog for 4 months, dry heaves 24/7. Needless to say, I got dehyrated and hospitalized 5 times in that short window. But allas the nausea stopped like someone had flipped a switch once I was placed on Reglan. This was not quite 2 years ago. I suffered long term effects from malnutrician and ended up losing the feeling midchest down. I was thought to have MS but it was ruled out. I cried for days and regretted even having thoughts of the surgery, but after much PT I went from wheelchair to a walker to cane and finally nothing. I can't squat yet but I couldn't do that before surgery.

I'm not saying this has been easy, because it hasn't. But I can tell you I would do it again in a heartbeat. I feel sooooo much better. I can wear normal size clothes, go places with friends without feeling like I was slowing them down, take the steps and finally I can breathe without getting winded.

With this being said, I wish you all nothing but the best!

Love and Light,

Rhonda

Have you found anything out? Have you been scoped? I had problems with vomiting and nausea - went to the er and they did a cat scan and x-rays, everything seemed fine they said, but I was the first patient they had ever seen with a sleeve - I still couldn't keep anything down and knew something was wrong, so I found a local VSG surgeon (I was sleeved in MX too), who would see me with my complications. He did an endoscopy and I found out I had a stricture (not found on ct-scan, had to be found with the endoscopy).

I was in the hospital for 8 days, not fun,but I am so much better. The doctor put a stent in, which was uncomfortable, your stomach's function is to push things through, so it was very awkward and uncomfortable. I tolerated it for 5 days and it was removed. That was a week ago. I feel so much better.

I just want you to be aware that there are other problems besides leaks, that require additional testing. If you are still having problems, see someone local.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
