Thanks for the info. I heard Dr.Suh was really good as well. In fact I heard the two choices for the Corona program are either Crown Bariatric with Dr. Suh or Pacific Bariatric that I previously mentioned. Three weeks is what I've been hearing concerning the referral. I have attended the Pacific Bariatric Seminar and have completed all their paperwork. They're just now waiting for Kaiser to send them the referral and then I can get started on their process. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did they allow u to choose which one u will be referred to. I know they say will not know for sure until u get ur referral...did they say u will go PBS for sure???

Well..she told me that they usually just refer to Crown Bariatric if you don't request PBSMG. I told her specifically that I wanted to go to PBSMG. She then asked me did I know which doctor? I gave her Eugene Rumsey who is the same doctor that conducted my mom's RNY back in Dec.2009. He's awesome!!! She was able to put that into the system so that the case manager sends the referal to PBSMG.

Yes! There's 3 appointments all in one day, and one of those appointments is a psych evaluation.

The three appointments are with the Surgeon, Internist, and Psychiatrist.

Hi, I have just decided that I want this surgery and I am a Kaiser member. My bmi is 36.5 right now. I am wondering if there are any folks from South Bay that were in a similar situation and can give me any pointers to make sure that my surgery gets approved. I am prediabetic, and have also have high blood pressure. I think I may have sleep apnea. I have made an appointment with my doctor to get her to order a sleep test. A firend of mine had Dr. Moon and he really liked him. Anything anyone can tell me would be so very appreciated.

I'm a Kaiser member as well here in nor cal (Fremont Kaiser). I'm having my surgery tomorrow with Dr Chu...she's amazing! I'm first in line check in time is 6am. My process took a total of 5 mos from surgeon orientation to surgery day. Congrats to those of you who have been sleeved and for those of us that are on our way. Best of luck to all.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
