I am 6 weeks post-op. I eat all my protein; take all my meds; consume 1000 calories a day; and drink my liquids...but I am always very tired. I feel very weak and don't even have energy to clean my house or workout. I have never left so weak and tired before.

Has anyone else experienced this? How did you get over it??

It sounds like a Vitamin deficiency to me. Have you had post op labs done yet?

Talk to your doc and see if he/she can run some lab work. Also, maybe talk to your nut to go over the foods you are eating and see if there is anything you can change to get more min and Vito's out of each bite. Hope you feel better soon. I'm just over six weeks, I have some fatigue issues still, but I feel pretty good overall. I still can't get in over 600 calories yet.

No post-op labs done yet, but I'm eating more than most on this Board at 6 weeks and take bariatric vitamins; I never even considered the notion of being Vitamin deficient

I was JUST going to post the same thing until I saw your post!!! I am just 7 weeks out, and my energy is sooooo bad, and my muscle tone is like jelly!! I am an EMT full time, came back 2 weeks ago, and I am afraid I am going to drop some one!! I just got finished washing my ambulance, and it took EVERY OUNCE of energy I had in me to do it! I hope we dont get a call, because i am shot right now....(I dont have to labs for a few weeks from now). My husband thinks im crazy, because I have always been strong. I've been doing this job for 13 years. I'm at the point where, i'm either going to have to quit, or I am going to be fired...

Shortypants--hoping that you (we) find a solution before you drop someone! I scheduled an appointment with my doctor and NUT to see them 2 weeks from now. If I find a solution or come up with interesting info, I will share! Good luck.

I felt very weak and tired until I added a few more healthy carbs mostly a little fruit. You said you get in your Protein and 1000 calories but hows your carbs? Hope you figure it out soon!

I totally agree with tlaff79...at six weeks out I still had low energy, but started adding a few more carbs and felt better. For me, my energy seemed to come back all in one day...it was weird! One day I was dealing with the low energy, and the next day I was a bundle of energy! And I've been fine since. :) That happen at about six weeks for me. Hang in there!

I'm 3 month out. I was very weak for about 7 or 8 weeks. I recently started a LessMills BodyPump class and am suprised by how weak I still am. Even though I feel great I can barely complete the routines with just the bar, no weight! Even though I've allways weight lifted very well. My surgeon's nurse said that my body is still recovering/in shock. Comforting to know

i am 6 weeks out and also very tired but only in the afternoons. I have a thyroid issue, it was under some control before the surgery but since my surgery it is out of whack again. I am lucky that my job lets me come in early so I can get my 8 hours in and still leave about 3ish when my energy is getting low.

Get your bloodwork done and that will probably answer alot of your questions. I feel miserable when my Vit D is low and sometimes it takes large doses to level it out. I do agree with the carb theory though.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
