Personally, I was perfectly fine with the hospital gown they provided.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother. Tthey will give you gowns. Multiple, if you desire. And ones like that, without the opening, aren't going to be practical since you (from the desc. anyway) won't be able to put it on once you have your IV, and your catheter and/or drain are just going to hike it up to your waist anyway.

Alsom if your plan would be to wear it into surgery, most hospitals will not allow this and require their own gowns. And like I said, once you're all hooked up to all the tubes everywhere, you really can't get on a standard gown. You need something with an arm that opens, at least.

I wouldn't bother either, but if you do I hope you get the $23 version and not the $1,000 version! lol

I wore the gown(s) they gave me. I had my favorite pajama bottoms that I put on underneath. As soon as I got my IV out, I put a tee shirt on (for the last night). My clothing didn't bother my incisions at all.

For the amount of time I wore a gown (two nights) I would just as soon wear their gown. You might get blood on it anyway and want to change to something clean. Then, you'd be back to the hospital gown anyway.

I also used the hospital gown because they required it. I was told by the nurse in pre-op that the actually take the gown off you during surgery and then put it back on afterwards. Mine snapped at the shoulders which made it easy to take on and off over the IVs. The only thing you need is perhaps a bathrobe to drape over your shoulders while you are walking.

I got one of those Pretty Pushers gowns when I had my last baby, and it was much, much more comfortable than a hospital gown. Not sure how well it would work for this surgery, but it worked very well with the monitors, IV, and epidural tubing. I think I had a catheter, too - don't remember exactly because I only had the epidural for 3 hours before he was born.

I had one that had a bunch of holes & access points in it that was more like a paper gown for the actual surgery. Then, I had a regular cloth hospital gown that opened in the back after surgery. They gave me another one to put around me like a robe when I wanted to walk around the halls. Then, I'd take the second one off again before getting back in bed after my walk around the hallways. I had bought a nightgown, but didn't even end up using it until I was home.

My hospital gown was very comfortable. They gave me two which I thought was very forward thinking of them. They put one on the front and one on my back. It was perfect.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
