One Week Down.

Just found the forum and decided to join. Its nice to be someplace with people who know what Im going through, and that I can talk to and wont be judgemental.

Had my surgery last Tuesday. It was supposed to be a full Bypass surgery, but my Doctor decided against it when he got inside, due to some scarring from a major hernia I had a few years back and an enlarged liver. But everything went well and I've already lost 11 lbs since surgery. Have a long way to go but its a start.

Welcome! So am I understanding you correctly that you went in for a full gastric bypass but got a VSG instead? If so, from what I have learned, you are lucky! I chose the VSG to avoid all of the malnutrition problems of a bypass and I am getting my sleeve on July 23rd. I would say that 11 pounds in a week sounds pretty darn amazing! Congratulations!!!!

I agree with Mamaof8. I didn't even know about the sleeve 14 months ago when started this journey. I thought I was headed for a g-bypass. Then when I learned about the sleeve, I was all for it. No malnutrition - no dumping. (Well, I have heard of a few people upchucking but I don't think it's like dumping.) Welcome to the forum!!
