Sandybells-

I am legal counsel for the general contractor on this. While it looks scary as hell it is highly over engineered. It can resist sustained winds of over 100 mph and bear the weight of 10, yes 10, 747's...I have been out on the site several times with the risk manager of the company and you would not believe the amount of steel and concrete that went into the footings to hold the superstructure...

CRAZY!

I'd have to lay down, I know I'd be sick

Then again my hubby and kids like to make my stomach drop by jumping in the elevator!

I dunnoo... I'm thinking I'd still feel better with some support underneath. We see freak accidents all the time.. bridges etc giving way.. I've seen the herds of tourist at the Grand Canyon. Not sure I'd get on it with all of them.

I wouldn't pay $25 to walk 15 yards out above the canyon. I'm sure people will, but that seems like an outrageous amount of money to me. $100 for a family of 4. Uh uh.

I feel sorry for whoever has to remove all the finger and nose prints every night. LOL

Yikes! No way would I walk out there on my own accord. Heck they couldn't pay me enough and they'd have a big mess to clean up behind me.

Gosh tired old man you are right but I have to admit I loved it as a way to experience the canyon in a way one couldn't normally.

No way, no how! Ain't gonna see me out there. And Nana, I understand, my kids are always jumping on the elevator to scare me. The canyon is so beautiful, and I've always wanted to hike it, maybe I'll make that a long term goal/reward!!!!! And you know, it's not even a fear of heights for me, it's a fear of falling, and looking at this walkway, all I can invision is just that, falling. Some of us are tough girls, but I'll tell you right now, I'm just a taffy ass. cassie

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
