I am 8 weeks out tomorrow. I have lost 35 pounds. I started at 261 lost 20 pounds on pre- op diet and 15 pounds since being sleeved 4/10.

I am ready to throw the scale in the trash. I have lost several inches but the scale is not moving. Still eating my Protein and Water.

Any advise. I don't count my calories because I eat so few. I eat when I am hungry and eat only until I feel full. I eat Protein first and then veggies, but after protein I don't have much room for veggies. An example would be....a whole can of tuna will last me an entire day. A Protein shake for Breakfast and chicken for dinner. Lots of Water.< /p>

It sounds like you aren't eating enough calories and you body is in starvation mode. How is your exercise level?

you know if you dont eat enough calories your body assumes you are "starving" and you will not lose....you may need to eat more...

I am 5.5 weeks out and per my NUT i am to eat between 600 - 800 calories a day..... So i would agree, you are not eating enough....Use MyFitnessPal for everything... If it says 1/2 c of anything and you don't eat the 1/2 c.... Change the serving... From 1 to ? .5 (if you only ate 1/4 c).... it tracks everything: Protein, carbs, calories, sugar...etc... Very helpful....

Add some food, good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
