What you smell is Duke Funk. It's worth a lot of money. LOL!

If only I could figure out how to bottle it.

1) I ran myself over with my own car & lived to tell about it. (Yes, this is true!!)

Um... I'd like to hear the story on this one!

Are you ambidexterous???

Hi Kare! This is quite a story. And one that is told over & over again at our family get-togethers. :)

Basically, my car wouldn't go in reverse. I only needed to go a few feet so that I could back out. I figured I would just get out of the car & pull it towards me. So, with the door open, I stood on the ground at the drivers side & pulled the car while holding on to the door & the steering wheel. (Yes, it's a very stupid thing to do.....I get it know!!!!!!!) The car jumped into reverse, knocked me down & ran me over. The car continued to drive itself across the parking lot while I lay on the ground. Somebody saw me & called 911.

The police, fire deparment, ambulance, & everyone came to my rescue. The found me lying on the ground in the middle of the parking lot with out a car even remotely close. After figuring out where my car ended up, the first guy asked me - Who's car was it that hit you? I answered - "MINE" They then asked - "Who was the driver?" In a very timid voice I said -"That was ME!"

I had all the paramedics in stitches because they couldn't believe I had actually ran myself over with my own car!!!

By the way, the car ran over my leg & ankle. My fat legs protected my leg, but I broke my ankle in several places.

Once they took me to the hospital the first thing the nurse asked was - "What happened?" The paramedics could hardly keep contain themselves.

This was one of the most hilariously, painful ordeals I have ever been in.

6. Robert Deniro (Said to call him Bobby and was a very nice person)

This one wipes out my entire list.

LOL, He came to visit Raul Julia in the hospital and I didn't recognize him. Who expects DeNiro to be walking down the hall in an ICU at 1 AM? I asked him if I could help him and he said, "It's me, Bobby." I said "Uh, ok, but can I help you? Visiting hours are over."

He kinda smiled to himself and then whispered, "Robert DeNiro?" I felt like a complete ass and apologized but he was very nice and told me to call him Bobby. After his visit with Raul Julia (who was admitted under another name), he came and chatted with the staff for about 15 minutes and then left... very normal person but shorter than I imagined.

My grandfather ran himself over too. He didn't break anything, but he was lucky...

And Funny, I wasn't saying that you shouldn't have posted everything you did, it was just a confusion on my part. My "last few years" haven't even been weird, at least not for me.

... For instance, I was not killed by Lenard Lake nor his buddy Charles Ng. (here's the long story... http://www.crimelibrary.com/serial_killers/predators/ng/call_1.html) Sure, lots of people were not killed by them, but I have to wonder how many people did Lenard invite to his cabin who didn't go? As soon as he touched me, as he put his hand on the small of my back, I knew there was something terribly, terribly wrong with this man, and I was in great danger.

*shudders* Good grief, Vines. I remember you telling this story some time ago and it still gives me chills. Good thing your intuition was working that day!

I was run over by a truck once, but it wasn't my truck and I wasn't driving. I was laying beside my ex boyfriend out on the lawn at a big party. Several of us had parked our vehicles on the lawn (big lawn). My ex's current girlfriend was mad because she couldn't find him and she got a friend to drive her to town to look for him. They jumped in the truck, and backed up right over my legs just above my knees. When everyone saw what was happening and I started yelling, the driver threw it into drive and punched it. Luckily he didn't have positraction and the tire that wasn't on my legs was the one that spun. It was a long time before I walked again, but I'm grateful that tire was 3 inches ABOVE my knees!

lessee what i can dig up about myself so that y'all get a chance to know me...

1. spent three months traveling and taking my time driving from texas to seattle and all points betwixt and between

2. witnessed bill cosby being a total a$$ to a perfume counter salesgirl and had all of my sweaterlovingjellopuddingpopeating illusions shattered.

3. lived next door to tony orlando of tony orlando and dawn. telma hopkins (one of the dawns and later on family matters) lived with him and i would go over to play with her son. big house with red walls, potted palms, and full of people and smoke all the time.

4. worked for CALL ME NOW!!! miss cleo as a telephone tarot card reader

5. had a very surreal conversation with a totally wasted johnny depp back in his dating kate moss hanging out with the butthole surfers days. odd, odd, little man.

6. picked up a paintbrush and started painting with no fear and total abandon just to see if i could do it. got hooked.

7. wrote an awful romance novel when i was nine. still have a copy of it (all 250 pages) tucked safely away in a garfield trapper-keeper in my closet. what did i know of romance back then? hell...what do i know of romance now?

8. got totally lost in london all by myself and ended up having *the most fun*. it was the best part of my vacation.

9. lived in a haunted house.

10. learned how to float and tape drywall when i was sixteen years old.

11. myself and my companions got sloppily drunk in las vegas, proceeded to get kicked out of three different casinos (one for trying to correct the grammar on the marquis) and ended up heckling the seigfried and roy sign on the strip. still not quite sure why...

12. started a greeting card company http://www.grumpycatgreetings.com a few months ago

and here are a few samples of my paintings, since nobody asked. LOL

7. Got to see my grandson come into the world.

8. As a kid and again as a teen had pet skunks. (stink glands removed...they eat cat food, and use a litter box)

9. Have been in two auto accidents, one hit head on by a drunk driver, and walked away from both unscathed.

10. Saw seals belly surfing in the pacific ocean.

11. Saw a submarine underwater from my plane window when my departing plane swung out over the ocean in San Diego.

12. Experimented with LSD in the late 70's. We always solved the world's problems, but couldn't remember the solutions the next day.. go figure.

13. Have 3 great kids that are already making the world around them a better place.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
