I am having mine June 25th as well. Been on my liquid diet for 17 days... have to be on it total of 21! This is hard but I'm doing well. I've lost 14 pounds and I hope to lose more before Monday... but we will see. Anyone know how the pain will be after the surgery? What anyone has told you? I wonder how much I will lose by July 28th.... that is my 10 year high school reunion and I want to look good :) It is sooo nice to know that I am not alone on June 25th :)

Had my pre-op appointment today. Was a bit surprised when I found out the surgery was going to be 3.5 hours long. Perhaps it's longer because I'm getting another Endoscopy before the sleeve. They took 4 vials of blood, urine and topped it off with an EKG. On stop shopping, lol! Time to start packing for the hospital; I'm probably going to obsess over it all weekend.

Best Wishes,

Rachel

Three days to go before surgery. I have lost 15 lbs during Pre-op diet. I am feeling a little anxious and apprehensive. I am ready to get this new journey started.

I found this site a while ago but just joined today. I am a June 25th'er as well... in Cincinnati, Ohio.

If this makes you feel any better, I've been on the pre-op diet for FOUR weeks! For my DR, that (is supposed to) means no real food, all powdered packets plus one Protein bar a day. I've found very few that I can stomach the taste of. If followed as prescribed, it's only 600-800 calories a day. In Week 2 I was at the gym and got very light headed and disoriented then threw up when I got home. Instead of telling me to eat more or have some meat, the dietician said "stop working out until surgery." That's how I was keeping myself busy so I wouldn't sit at home and think about my hunger. I had to lose 40 pounds before my DR would even let me schedule surgery. I've lost 65 total since Feb. I have had a few "cheats" but four weeks is a long time and I've surpassed their goals. The last two weeks have been the hardest because I'm a teacher and now that I'm out of school I don't have the same daily routine and have a whole day of opportunities to cheat!

In other news, I'm freaking out... even though this has a 1.5 year process, it has yet to hit me. I live alone so I'm staying with my parents for at least a week. I told my younger sister she had to be there Sunday night because I will probably be crying hysterically or hyperventilating, or both!

Good luck everyone!

"click" on your ticker, from the entry you made above, it should direct you to the site. Look for "edit" button or feature. It should allow you to input current weight.

Decided to have a pedicure today, so I'll have nice feet for surgery. Wouldn't want them to talk about me while I'm out of it. ;)

Heee, heee, I'm off to have a peddicure as well. I don't want them to say "look at the hooves on this one". :P

I've tried to click on my ticker and it takes me to the main forum page. Then I went to my profile and tried to edit the ticker then I deleted it. Now I can't even log in from my computer. It will only let me log in from Facebook or twitter. I don't want to log in using those because my friends and followers can then see that I'm on vertical sleeve talk. What the heck did I do wrong?

I chopped up my last green salad and started crying when I put away my knife and cutting board: I know I won't see them again for almost 2 months. Clear Liquids tomorrow then surgery Monday from 11:40 until 3:10. At this point all my friends know about surgery which is a good thing, it's not like they won't notice me shedding pounds soon. I'm proud of what I'm doing for myself, perhaps I can inspire others. Anyhow, doing well overall, when I'm not crying like a baby! Will check back in tomorrow, take care fellow sleevers <3

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
