Hi all,

I figured I would come to the experts! I will be having my sleeve in 2 weeks 6 days,....yes I am counting down the days.

I am going shopping soon for everything I need and I would love ANY help in compiling that list. SO far I have gas ex strips and a tummy pillow.

Thanks!

I have a list of stuff I bought and a blog post about what I did at gastricsleeve4me.blogspot.com. There's a link up at the top. I'm only 2 weeks post surgery and did my shopping before too :)

There is actually a thread already started with a shopping list father down, or maybe it's in the FAQs section, but its a good list!

One thing that I got that helped me - the 64 oz. Gatorade (low calorie!) With the liquid diet my NUT has me on, I'm allowed 8 oz. of Gatorade and once I got through the first bottle I rinsed it and carried it around with my Water requirement for the day. It was an easy visual to know if I'd consumed my 64 oz. or not (and I was a fan of not having to go out and buy a bottle for it).

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
