Only 3 Protein Shakes a day? How long is your preop? If the Dr. said, you should definitely have some pudding and Jello and yes that is alot of Water. Good luck.

Wow, I would lose my mind if I had to do three shakes a day and nothing else. I am on a 2 shake a day plan (I'm sure it depends on what type of shake the doctor's recommend), and can also have Gatorade, SF applesauce, oatmeal, SF cream of wheat, SF pudding, SF Jello, low sodium broth, SF popsicles, SF creamsicles and SF fruit chillers.

Wow your doctor actually prescribed that much Water? I read somewhere that too much water can be bad - it messes up your electrolytes I believe, and that seems a bit obsessive.. I don't think I could handle it -- i have trouble making 70 which is my goal.

That is a boat load of Water. 64 ounces is usually the recommendation for an entire day. There is no way I could get that amount of water in.

Honestly, the pre-op diet was the hardest part of my entire experience. I drank about 4 Premier shakes a day. You can try SF pops and chicken/beef broth. Its like eating a liquid steak. Ok, no really its not, but that's what I kept telling myself to get through it. I was on this diet for a total of 4 weeks (2 weeks pre-op and 2 weeks post-op). I was about to rip someone's head off by the end! In that month I lost 30 pounds and in the end I survived. I'm a lot happier now. Just keep your eye on the prize. I was just terrified of any complications during or post-op that I stuck to the liquid diet without cheating. Hang in there. My blog has a bunch of entries about my frustrations with the liquid diet.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
