SOTC thread...Why NOT to post when your angry

Recommended Posts

How can I explain it to you better?? Maybe you misunderstood what I said. Please reread the post. I WOULD NEVER God bash. I love the Lord with all my heart and I take great offense at seeing Him used this way by Christian people. Sometimes even Christians need a little reminder that their behavior could be considered very offensive by Christians and non Christians alike. Im sure my angry post last night came across as very "Un-Christianlike" but it was NOT God bashiing...

Kathy as the first line in my post said I laughed it off thinking you were having a bad day. I was talking about the few who posted after who.... (but won't name any names) I agree with what you were trying to get across. If you are going to toss the words of a child of God I do think you should live it... But in all fairness we all act a little dumb now and then... And I did not read yesterdaY post, That is one reason I am not on here much. I am so tired of all the HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA that happens here.... I hope you are having a better day and I never thought YOU were God bashing...

:deadhorse: :deadhorse: Could we please drop this thread? It is no longer productive whatsoever.

I can't believe some of you would even want to post on this thread at all.

:lock1:

Anyone that continues to post in this ridiculously juvenile, drama filled thread will be required to tell us how much it hurts to be an idiot.

How's that?

re: "I believe nothing that cannot be verified by my senses."

I believed that too for much of my life.

Yet how do I account for these:

Time, tide, gravity, TV signals, pheromones, brain function in relation to blood glucose levels. Brownian movment. Strong and weak atomic forces. Calcium and sodium channel pump. Mitochondrial function. Ionization. X-ray and gamma ray production. Radiation. Atomic decay. Fossilization process. The growth of Redwoods. Ova and sperm...invisible to the naked eye. Microscopic anything. Pluto and Xena circling the Sun. Sun spots.

My beliefs are subjected to the performance of devices that extend our senses. Yet how accurate are they and how do we interpret the data they provide? The church refused to look into Gallileo's telescope and denied the existence of the moons of Jupiter. Did they suddenly pop into existence for the convenience of a theological argument?

And what of subatomic particle physics? Quantum mechanics. Quarks, leptons, gluons....magnetism itself? I don't see electricity. I can't see the ocean....does it still swarm the shore and nourish creatures I've never encountered?

Our concepts of blood changed when we invented the microscope. And they changed again when we could look at 100x instead of 10x. And they changed again when we looked at 1000x....and again at 20000x and 30000x.....and when we could measure electric signals, and chemical signals...and again when we discovered hormonal mediation of cellular processes....and again when we could observe and measure those processes due to the effects of radiation, of environmental factors previously ignored....and when genetic mapping became possible....

Did the universe change with the addition of new devices to our world?...

Spring--hand me a bottle please. And love....I'll take a pound of it. No, make that 2 pounds.

I no longer consider my senses to be that which defines the Universe.

This, however, is poetry. It should be memorialized amongst the ashes. :clap2:

Hey people. she apologized.. Get on with it... She stated...." read it again, You must have misunderstood what I said."

Points to Ponder........

Many non-believers' last words have been, "Oh, God." However, It may have been too late.

Just for the record, I'm not offended at all by the original post. It made perfect sense to me. And you're absolutely correct, PPL

Me too, so I'm hoping NurseKathy won't mind if this thread gets killed. Come on guys, I know there's some cheese lovers out there. I, personally, love avocados. Do you know how much fat is in those puppies?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
