I'm curious, do you have sliming/productive-burping/food "stuck" with the sleeve just like the band? I know you have to eat slow and watch your portions, but I really don't want to go the rest of my life with the same symptoms my band is giving me! I will be grateful for any info you revisions can give me! :)

Good question! I would like to know about that as well.

I would imagine that if you went way too fast and/or swallowed a bite too big that it could happen.

It'll be interesting to see what answers you get.

I am a revision.... had it on May 4th.

The sleeve is nothing like the band for me. I am up to mushies and only had a problem one time when I ate some yogurt too fast and that was a couple weeks ago. No problems since.

The way it feels when I eat is completely different...with the band it felt like a lump in my throat after eating, now I actually feel full in my tummy and not my throat. It's so much nicer.

The only issue I"m dealing with is reflux at night, but I had that with the band also. I'm on Prilosec twice a day, and have to stop eating a few hours before bedtime, but my doctor thinks it will resolve itself when the healing is done and the swelling is gone.

I'm glad I had the revision.

Thanks for the response! This is exactly the kind of thing I wanted to hear! :)

You don't get stuck like with the band because there's no stoma. The "stuck" of the band was food (or whatever) unable to pass through the stoma into the stomach proper. We have a completely normal passageway into the stomach. Our version of "stuck" would be eating too much - when we get discomfort/pain, and may have to bring the food back up.

Some things feel the same, or very similar. And some things feel completely different. You really can't compare the two, even though I know that's your natural instinct (I lived with my band for 6 years, and I wanted to be able to anticipate exactly how they would compare).

I have not slimed with the sleeve (we're less likely to slime when we don't have something "stuck"). I gurgled with the band, and I gurgle worse with the sleeve. I gurgle a lot, especially if I eat something "tough" (like a jerky) or if I eat a bit too much.

You will need to (probably) work on changing your mindset. We learned "tricks" with our band that just won't work the sleeve.

The differences from band to sleeve are discussed quite often. Keep reading in this forum and you'll probably find most of what you're after. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/39589-band-to-sleeve/page__p__351611__hl__+eat%20+around%20+the%20+band__fromsearch__1#entry351611 That's a fairly recent thread that will probably cover some of the questions you have.

Thank you, Both, so much! I think that IS what I'm trying to do, Wheetsin, make comparisons b/c that's all I know and I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that this is happening. I'm trying to figure out how to adjust and work the new process with NO knowledge of the new process!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
