Lap band support...on ebay?

Recommended Posts

It's a she!!! She now has before and after pics on the auction site. The pamplet is one page (8 1/2 x 11), plus you get her phone number.

I think some of our before and after pics look better than hers. Do you think we should send them to her?

Yeah I emailed her and asked for her to put her pics on the listing so we can see if she lost weight ...I didn't give her my personal email though...lol

She neglected to tell me about the brochure though.

There was some time back also an ebay auction asking for contributions for a girl so she could pay for lap band. Do you guys remember that??

I am tempted to buy one just to see what she has to say but I really don't want to encourage her :heh:

I also go a chuckle out of one of her other sale items--a book entitled "How to Start, Build, and Market a Debt Free Business."

Definitely odd.

The only feedback that seller had was for a Nintendo - not lapband related at all - unless she programmed her 1 page flyer into it!

There is also a number of auctions for people selling RNY / GP journals - which all seem to be comprehensive diaries or advice booklets - but none offering the "direct line" of support to the purchaser

Sorry, I think I'll spend my 5 bucks on CHEESE!!!!!

I remember that. I don't remember if it was teh same girl who came here, wanting the same thing. I just remember she got really mad when people suggested ways for her to make money or finance the surgery (rather than just donating to the cause, I suppose.) Boy did she come to the wrong place. Everyone here has had to sacrifice in one way or another to get banded, so for her to come here and ask for money when she hadn't even tried to help herself got a lot of people fired up. :scalesno:

It's not Sandy, but I'm surprised Sandy has let this opportunity pass her by.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
