Today I tried to sit at the table and try to eat for 30 minutes. Pre-op I usually could eat my food in about 3 minutes, so this was very hard. My question is... If I am full after 2 bites and I still have 25 minutes left should I sit there and wait for the fullness to subside and take another bite as long as it is in the 30 minute period or should I get up and consider the 2 bites a meal?

Today I sat there and waited until I could keep squeezing it in bite by bite until I couldn't take it anymore..... was that right? IDK.

When I feel that pressure of full then I stop. I'm a nurse and a mom so I also eat quickly. This is the hardest part for me. When I was fresh post op it would only be a few bites too. Now @ 5 weeks I can eat like 2 -3 oz chicken breast. It never takes me 30 min to get full though. In not sure if this is cool or not though. I have lost 42 lbs since surgery. But I have a hard time getting in Protein like I should.

I just had surgery on Monday, so I don't really know. However, from what I've been told by my dietitian we should stop eating when we feel full and not force anything, even if it's only 2 bites of food. However, I really think you need to ask your doctor or dietitian because every doctor is different as far as their guidelines go. I've heard the 30 minute timeline from other people here, but my doctor never mentioned at time limit on meals.

I am 6 weeks out. I stop when I start to get that pressure feeling. If I sit there, I nibble kind of like before surgery and we would "pick cause its there" kind if thing, bad idea cause I then get so full from those tiny little bits I get sick. Now I eat 25% of what I used to eat chew chew chew then swallow usually full in 4 to 5 bites. Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
