I was asked (via PM) where my port site scar is.

So here is the port site scar. Just below my new belly button.

Thanks to everyone who left positive comments :huggie:

Cool! Your surgeon almost made your port scar go away by hiding it with your new BB (which is well healed now too).

Does that mean that after your large weight loss, that the port scar has moved away from the port area? that is, it has no relation to the location where the port is stitched? I am ignorant. And curious.

When they do a TT, not only is the excess skin removed, the skin they don't take, is separated from the body (kinda like skinning a piece of chicken) and pulled down to tighten the skin. It moved down a little with the loss, but was still well above my belly button.

My port site scar was about 5 - 10 cm above my belly button pre op TT, now it resides just below, almost in it. :clap2:

Sammee,

You're truly amazing and look absolutely fabulous! You look so much more vibrant and alive - you're an inspiration and make me want to work hard to be successful too! Congratulations on a job well done!

Aussie Chick,

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your pics. I'm planning to have a lapband. I've actually been depressed because I look like you did preop and I was feeling that even with the lapband surgery I'd never be pretty again. But you are! And I can do it, too!! I will always remember your generosity.

Aussie Chick:

Thank you for being so brave to share these very personal pictures. If and when I get near my targeted weight, I will want a Tummy Tuck, but I have enough excess to make up a child's weight.

I hope I will be brave enough to take pictures, though I doubt I would share them.;)

I will happily share mine with everyone when I reach goal weight, pre-ops for TT. Thank you again Aussiechick for sharing. Do you have recent skin pictures? I am just curious about the scaring, discoloration, blood clots, anything.

Thank you Andy Liz, Nancy, and TOM.

The reason I am sharing is that when I was looking for TT results, aside from a few of the ladies here, there were very few lapbanders sharing their pics.

I do have a few newer pics Telly. I don't have any blood clots (I never really did, actually, although I understand it does happen) and the only spot that is discolored is where I popped a stitch, and have a tiny, tiny hole. The area around the hole is really red, but my PS tells me that within the week, it will be back to "normal". I have to point out, that the only reason I popped a stitch was that I started exercising far too early. I learned my lesson *blush* and am not planning any exercise till week 4.

Anyhow, pics;

The above pictures were taken a few days ago, and nothing much has changed, apart from the swelling going down a little more. I will end up pretty flat, I think.

Thanks Jack!

LOL Paula. Tiny is not a word I use to describe myself, lol. I was carrying a fair bit of swelling in those pics, because they were taken at night (I start the day with a belly a model would envy! LMAO) And end up with swelling just below, and above my belly button. As well as in my pubic area (I look like I have shoved socks in my undies at times!)

Wow your skin looks damn good in the surgical area. Healed up pretty nicely. I was very worried about that with myself but I am hopeful now. I love the fact that it will be in the panty line area.

Aussie, I have a few questions for you if you don't mind:

Have you gained Water weight? Water retention due to the surgery?

Have your clothes felt tighter or now more loose?

Does the area tingle? Numb?

Is it painful to get up, in or out of bed?

Lastly, are you caring for your surgical area with madera or some kind of scar ointment? If so, what are you using?

I get up in the morning, pee, and I weigh 59kg / 130lbs, but by bed time, if I am really swollen, I can weigh anywhere up to 62kg / 136lbs, depending on how bad it is. And in the morning the whole thing starts all over again!

I have lost a clothing size. I went from a AU10 (US8?) to a AU8 (US6?).

At first I was totally numb. Now just the area below my belly button is a little numb. Nothing too dramatic.

At first, it was hard, mainly because of the muscle repair (you are not able to use your abs) you have to use your arms to get up. It is more a pain in the ass than painful. I felt like a turtle on its back.

I am not using anything but a surgical tape (micropore).

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
