When Can I Ride My Motorcycle?

Recommended Posts

WHEN IS IT PLAUSIBLE TO THINK ABOUT RIDING AGAIN? I'M A WEEK OUT, AND I'M BOUT TO GO CRAZY LOOKING AT MY BIKE!

I talked to my surgeon about that yesterday. He told me at least the first week no riding. After that if I am not taking any pain medications and I feel up to it that i can ride. But then he told me no heavy lifting until he sees me after my 1 week follow up. You may want to talk to your surgeon every surgeon has different guidelines.

I TALKED TO MY SURGEON TO, HE PRETTY MUCH SAID WAIT UNTIL YOU FEEL READY, I WAS READY SOON AS I GOT HOME! (LOL) I GUESS I'LL PULL HER OUT TODAY, AND SEE HOW SHE FEELS TO ME.

Remember, you can't lift anything over 10 lbs. So if you have to lift her, then please wait. Hate to see you hurt yourself. ;)

Yeah, what dorrie said. You should be OK UNLESS something goes haywire, get into a tough situation and maybe high side the bike or pull a tank slapper you MIGHT just hurt something. You just had major surgery and had a large portion of an internal organ cut out, so give yourself a few weeks at least. That my $0.02 at least.

I was sleeved on March 7th. I rode my bike from Omaha to KC on the March 22nd for my two week follow up. It wasn't a bad ride, but the last hour or so on the way back was a little uncomfortable. I think the largest incision was getting a little tender.

THANX, GUYS, NOT WHAT I WANTED TO HEAR, BUT GREAT ADVICE. I'LL WAIT A FEW DAYS, JUST FOR GP, AND TO KEEP MY PARENTS & SISTER IN LAW COOL. (LOL) I WILL BE RIDING BY THE 19TH OF THIS MONTH, IF NOT JUST FOR SHORT DISTANCES.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
