I started my pre-op dieet on the 1st. I had some tough days, but I'm feel pretty good now.

I feel very busy right now. I've got all my usual stuff, plus a stack of pre-op appointments and this and that. That's good. Being busy means I spend less time worrying. ;)

Just got home form the hospital yesterday. I'm feeling great! Minimal pain and more energy than I could have imagined this early in. I'm sure I'll have difficult days but as of right now, if you follow the post op program closely, it makes life a TON easier. It may seem impossible to get in all of your liquids/protein post-op but all you can do is try your absolute best. Take it slow but be active and focused on your recovery. Remember to take small walks to keep the blood flowing and also to relieve any gas pain. Best of luck!

I am hanging in there, 6 more days to go.

My pre-op diet was very general & was just told to eat healthy. Found it really hard actually as I didn't have rigid guidelines, so eating sensible things, but overeating! So not lost a lot of weight.

Getting more serious today. So far just had a Protein shake for Breakfast, one for lunch & a babybel cheese as snack. Let's see if I can make it until dinner time without snacking on anything else!

I am trying to stay busy by doing some crafting, laundry etc. But it is hard!

I'm still quite distracted - however I did find out today that I am now 100% funded for my surgery! That takes a real load off my mind! Wish I could just concentrate on my job!!!

Had my pre-op class from noon to 5:30pm yesterday, went to 30 minutes of the bariatric support group in the same building and then worked a 12 hour shift. All of that on 870 calories yesterday and so far only 300 today. I also had a slower shift then normal so I walked twice for 15 minutes. I am doing a high energy Water aerobics class today and aqua zumba tomorrow. We are going to applebees for dinner tonight and I will get one of the under 550 meals and even then only eat part. I was told my surgeon is not kidding around about the pre-op weight loss. If he says lose 20 and you lose 19 he cancels your surgery. So I have to get in gear. He told me 20 and while my ticker says I lost 15 that is from my highest in February. From when I met with him I have only lost probably 8. Getting very very nervous. I cannot have gone through all of this and not get the surgery. I weigh in on Monday for a check in and then again the following Monday. I think that is the day that I absolutely have to have lost the 20 by.

I'm day 4 post-op and was released from the hospital earlier today. I honestly feel GREAT. I am being hyper cautious, though. I was off my pain pump on day 2, and using liquid lortab for pain. They sent me home with 2 HUGE bottles of the stuff. The Zofran has kept any nausea at bay, and I've been taking dissolved Nexium. I had ONE twinge of gas pains on day 2, but that was it. NOTHING like the pain from the band. I'm able to get in and out of the hospital bed and my living room furniture on my own. I haven't attempted my bed yet, since it's rather high. I've been walking a ton and sipping water/drinkable yogurt/some sort of crystal light nonstop. Tomorrow, I have a 5 hour drive to the Beaumont area so my mom can keep an eye on my while I'm recovering. I'm able to get 5 oz of liquid in each hour if I really push myself. I usually end up sleeping, instead.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
