6 days.... Wow. I am most nervous about not drinking Water for so long. After the anesthesia, that is going to be torture. The hospital I am going to makes you get up and walk for 10 min every 2 hours even through the night!

Hey there, I finally received the authorization to have my surgery on May 15th. I was denied; and it has taken close to three weeks to get the final approval. Hello, today at 5:30 p.m. Talk about last minute.....I have been on pins and needles for the last three weeks. I can't wait !! I started my liquid diet May 9th, and so far so good. I am so looking forward to the next chapter of my life. Wish me luck ~~ I am 64 (65 in October) ... And ready to start my new healthy life. Best of luck to all.

I'm the 14th. Holy crap! I can't believe it's finally happening on Monday. It's definitely all I can think about.

I know holy crap lol. I keep thinking I've been so myopically obsessed that I must be overlooking something really big. Hopefully not though :) I'm getting a little emotional the closer it gets. My boys didn't want to watch a movie with me right when I wanted to & I started crying lol. WTH?

And, irrationally, I was thinking, I might die in 3 days and you don't want to watch a movie with your mother??? LOL! Silly :)

Mine is the 14th. Right about now I want to just crawl in a hole and skip tonight, tomorrow and Monday morning & skip right ahead to Monday afternoon for surgery. Tonight I just feel like eating since I can't have anything except Clear liquids tomorrow. However, I know that's not right & I really don't want to because I know I'll regret it. I've always had a hard time with Mother's Day, especially since my mom & mother-in-law both passed away, so I just want to skip tomorrow. I also want to skip tomorrow since I know I can't Celebrate with food since I'll be having Clear Liquids (and probably be visiting the bathroom) all day! I want to skip Monday morning since I can't have anything to eat or drink after midnight Sunday & my surgery isn't until 3:30 PM. UGH! I'll probably be ready to pass out by then! I just want this weekend to be over with for so many reasons! I need to put on a happy face for my daughters tomorrow though because I know they made me things at school & they're looking forward to Mother's Day. I just want Monday to be here and for everything to go well with surgery!!!

I have a FB page for my blog if anyone wants to follow it that way. https://www.facebook.com/MyGastricSleeveLife

If someone makes a FB group, I'll gladly join too.

I feel you sister! The waiting game is on. I've been trying to stay occupied but I keep ending up on this website, or digging through my pre- op manual!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
