Congratulations on your date ;)

No regrets here (so far).

Comments... just remember that the band is a tool and not a cure, you still need to work with it.

........again, congratulations and good luck :)

Yes I aggree with NJCHICK, its a tool and its only as good as you use it correctly, thus far I am down 86lbs and have never never never felt as good as I do now. This is in all category's self esteem is high finally once in my life. Dont get me wrong, I have always felt good about myself, but now I feel great about myself

None as of yet, and I don't expect any. I do wished I had of done this 3 years ago when I first really heard about it.

I have only one fill and only 5 weeks postop but things are so getting back to normal and life is fun again. I've lost 26 pounds so far but have about another 80 + to go but I'll get there.

Just remember what everyone else has already said, it's a tool and if it's just pitched aside like a rake or something and doesn't get used you won't see the results you want. I think head hunger was my hardest thing so far but it does get better.

Good luck and it will be one of the best decisions you've ever made.

I wouldn't call this a regret....but maybe a reality check:the band can be VERY controlling...meaning if you eat too big of bite...you could be sick for an hour or not?! You can eat something one day and eat the very same thing the next day and it causes you to pb and slime for an hour! ;) This is not common and the more experience you gain it's better! I would do it again even knowing all this....

God Bless,

Melody

Banded 3/20/06 -76lb:)

Absolutely no regrets. It is the best thing that I have ever done for myself! Over all, it has not been as difficult as I had anticipated. The worse part prior to this whole experience was the fear of the unknown. I wish you the best of luck with your new life!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
