Any Bandsters from Katy, TX?

Recommended Posts

I am also looking at Dr. Rincon. I was pretty much set on Dr. Rumbaut in Monterrey, but Dr. Rincon's deal is hard to ignore as a self pay. I am also in Austin, so Rincon is close.

I know he was associatied with the WISH Center in SA, but has recently opened his own clinic. Of all the searching I have done, I can not find anyone that says anything negative about him.

While he is certainly not as experienced or well known as Rumbaut, his background looks solid and I think he has enough lapband work under his belt to be through any learning curve.

I am a bit concerned about it being "outpatient" surgery with him. If I go with Rincon, I think I wil check in to a nice hotel on the river walk for a day or so after the surgery, just so I am close should any complications develop.

I am very interested in any other opinions about Dr. Rincon, both past and prospective patients.

Hi Redi,

I know you will think this is a stupid question, but why are you considering a doc in San Antonio when you live in Houston? Some of the best are right there in Houston! Just wondering....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
