Did you use Body Fortress

No, I can't remember the name. I bought them at Vitamin Shoppe. They were just too sweet after.

As far as the fruit, I think it goes back to the whole carb thing. Fruits are high in carbs which first gets converted to glycogen. It a very simplied for (as I understand it) glycogen is used by the body for energy and any excess is first stored in the liver, then in the body as fat.

Fruits are solid food and high in carbohydrates. To shrink the liver, they are expecting you not to add things like fruits or Peanut Butter, or anything added to to the shake. I use the Magic Bullet and I add ice to it and it makes it much tastier. I would suggest not adding fruits to the diet though, it defeats the purpose. Skim milk may be fine, again ask your nutritionist, make a quick phone call, it will be worth it in the end. Good Luck.

Hmmmm, I can't imagine being on Clear liquids for two weeks. To me Clear Liquids does not include Protein shakes.

The definition of clear liquids in my WLS booklet is: sugar free Jello, chicken or beef broth, Decaf tea, flavored Water, and sugar free popsicles and of course Water. I am only on clear liquids 1 day before surgery and day 2 after surgery (1 day).

I am on liquids which include Protein Shakes and the list above for two weeks before surgery and 2 weeks after.

I would double check to make sure they really mean clear liquids for two weeks....protein shakes don't really fall under clear liquids.

was actually wondering about mixing fruits with it too, bc i love buying the frozen packaged ones in the frozen sections of the store...or does it have to b fresh?

Like it has been mentioned. You are not going to want any sugar (naturally occurring or not) during this time period. Good luck on May 10th!!

I was on liquids(protien drinks) + one lean and green meal a day for 2 weeks , then clears only for the 3 days before surgery.

That was CLEAR no protien drinks the last 3 days.

Ok I have another questions now that fruits out of the questions are you allowed to haves chobani yogurt throughout the liquid face.

My plan says Protein drinks and Clear liquids so for me "No" but I've seen some patients whose Dr. allows them some solid food so you'll have to check with your Dr. or the nutritionist that works with the Dr. Office.

www.unjury.com is a good website .They have unflavored Protein which is good to mix in other things. They also have a chicken broth that has alot of protein. Most store brought broths are low in Protein and high in sodium.. My NUT told me a patient should only have 1500mg max a day of sodium.....Now with that being said the unjury broth has 850mg of sodium. So the plan I will follow is Breakfast is 1 shake(50mg of soduim). Lunch:Same shake. Dinner:The broth(so I can actually feel like im eating a dinner.lol). That only totals 950mg of sodium and 340 calories.

(Sidenote: The protein I tried was from http://www.tryabouttime.com/ .They have birthday cake flavored shakes (yum!!). They have many more flavors which u can buy sample packs so you wont waste $$.Plus free shipping for trying samples.)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
