Everybody has different diets, it sounds like yours is one extreme, whereas the 1 month of liquids is the other. Most of us here were on a post-op diet that was either 7 or 10 days of Clear Liquids followed by 7 or 10 days of full liquids and then 7-10 days of mushies, and then free-for-all after that.

Everyone is so different. I am surprised at one week post op he said to start solids, but maybe he has had success doing this. Good luck to you and keep us posted on how you are doing.

My Dr. told me to let my body tell me what to do next. start on clear liquid, then move on. I am 4 days out I have had cream of wheat, cream of chicken. I am a newby, I don't know if this is or isn't good for me, I can tell you I am eating slow and and have NOT thrown up

I was on clears for 5 days, and then advanced to purées/mushies for 1 month. I am now 3 weeks out and can handle dark meat chicken just fine.

I have the extreme in the other direction: two weeks clear liquids, two weeks full liquids, two weeks soft/mushies, and then after the six week anything I can tolerate. It was tough, especially the clear liquid bit, but I made it through without any major issues besides lack of energy.

I had full liquids starting day 2 and then mushies starting day 7.....then at 2 weeks I was able to start on full diet. listen to your sleeve, it will let you know if you shouldnt have what you are eating.

This was what I did plus two weeks of full liquid pre-op diet. For my clear liquid phase I used the clear zero carb Isopure liquid. Two bottles = 80 grams of Protein. I wasn't weakened by it probably because my Protein was up.

The Isopure is available at any GNC. You can also buy it online. It's pricey but you only need 30 bottles for 2 weeks. I never felt weak or hungry on this stuff and it counts toward the 64 oz of daily liquid you need.

It's this stuff:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
