Woohoo! Labs At 1 Year 4 Months, Dang Near Perfect!

Recommended Posts

Just went to my yearly physical, I was sweating bullets as I have been eating a lot more than I was back when I had my first labs done a year ago. I was afraid I would be back in the poor results camp after a stellar report last year.

Well . . . it's dang near PERFECT AGAIN! BP was 120/80 (in the doctors office, I have a lot of "white coat syndrome" issues) cholesterol was 133 - actually LOWER than last year, triglycerides was 64! Fasting blood sugar was 88. All the other blood tests were right in the good to excellent range.

Man, why didn't I get sleeved years ago! I cannot endorse this surgery enough, it has RADICALLY changed my life and health. I may fall over dead tomorrow but at least I'll do so as a fit and healthy person rather than a fat blob.

That's awesome. You are truly an inspiration. You're making me feel guilty though, lol. I know I should definitely go in and get my labs done. I want to make sure everything is good.

Hi Rootman

WooHoo - doing the happy dance. You are terrific. :)

WCS= White Coat Syndrome, having high blood pressure in your doctors office, e.g.. being so nervous because of the professionals in white coats taking it. I used to have them take it twice and it would drop, sometimes dramatically, between the first and second times. Some deep breaths and shaking it off always helped. I was already certain mine was good as I have been taking it regularly at home and the gym and it was always good there - in fact better - than at the docs, so I was LESS nervous about it this time.

Love it! I need to go see my pcm. Last time they said my blood pressure was amazing. Coming from a LONGGGGG line of high blood pressure I kind thought it was a big deal!

That is awesome, it is a great feeling to KNOW you are healthy. That was also my best feeling when I got my reports back, all the hard work has paid off and we know the lifestyle we must lead to maintain it. Congrats to you.

Rootman - I am proud of you - you have done wonderful work with the sleeve. I wish my cholesterol was as low as yours! I echo your thoughts about "why didn't I do this earlier?"

What Vitamins / supplements do you routinely take?

Sharon

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
