Recommended Posts

Trying to hang in there, it's day 2 on pre op diet, but day 4 with no coffee

Im having major headaches from caffiene withdrawl! I hope it gets better. Plus, I'm really hungry, I'm a really active nurse, if anyone has advice for energy boost(in the way of protein)

Please advise me!!! Thanks, good luck everyone, let's hang in there!!!

After thinking about it, I am not sure my body knows if it is head hunger or real hunger, because I have always just gratified whichever one by eating. Maybe during this liquid stage I will begin to be able to separate this out.

Day 2 for me. Wasn't hungry at all esterday except for wants a little but not bad. I was probably still full from eating like a maniac beforehand. I think the anticipation was worse than actually doing it. I have a headache I woke up with that I'm sure is caffeine withdrawal...

Day 3 of the hunger games,LOL

Finally!!! NO caffiene hangover, thank goodness.

I miss my coffee, but I will just go with Decaf for a bit. I had the best, best split pea Soup for dinner, OMG!! Plus my little spinach salad on the side. Tons of propel grape, yum. I still have to have one more Protein shake!! It does get better. I went to Vons and didn't have a melt down! Hang in there!! It's gonna be so worth it

@hellonurse:

Split pea Soup & spinach salad! I'm so jealous!! All I'm allowed are Protein shakes and clear liquids! Crazy how doctors are so different. Good job. Sounds like you're conquering the diet!

Today is day 3 for me. I haven't weighed myself yet. On day 1 (before actually dieting) I weighed 257. On day 2 I was 250.5. Can't wait to see if maybe I'm in the 240's by today and maybe even the 230's by the time I go to the hospital next Friday for surgery.

Thanks for all the updates, everyone. They really help me stay focused.

@Felicity549

I'm sorry! It is strange how all Doctors are not using the same protocol. I went to my pre op class yesterday, his idea of a sensible meal was alot of good food!! I was only doing my 3 shakes and then one puny little spinach salad with a bites of chix in it. That's why I had a small little bowl of split pea. Wow, you have lost major pounds!!! Way to go

I weighed myself this morning, I was down to 216! The day after Easter(Easter being the last supper) my kids telling me"eat this Mommy" I weighed in at 226, I was not a happy camper.

I want to atleast weigh 210 by the 24th!!

Keep us posted on your weigh in, seeing everyone elses progress inspires me!!!

Day 3 for me. Had to go into the office when I usually work from home. Thank goodness I took a double Protein Drink because I was there a lot longer than I thought I would be. They want us to have Unjury chicken Soup for dinner, and I hate it. Need to have another Protein drink yet, and a cup of Tomato or V8 juice....c'mon and get here 4/23!!

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
