"the Hunger Games" Are Not Only Happening In Theatres - Day 1 Pre-Op Diet

Recommended Posts

I thought I was prepared for this but I'm STARVING!!!!! Today is day 1 of my two week pre-op liquid diet and I'm dying already! I am soooooo tempted to do a combination of liquid and Atkins Induction that it's not even funny. I don't know how I'm gonna get thru 2 weeks of this. These Protein Drinks are not getting it! My head hurts and I would absolutely kill for a piece of cheese. LOL

I'm day 1 but I got lucky my doc only requires 3 day preop. I have had a head ache all day as well.

About 3 days into the liquid diet is when it gets easier. For some reason it takes our minds that long to grasp that we are really doing it! Hang tough! The results will be worth it! :)

Are you all on Protein shakes only? Up until two days before the surgery I am allowed sugar free yogurt, sugar free pudding, sugar free popsicles, Protein shakes, strained cream Soups, chicken/beef/veg. broth., sugar free Jell-O. Four days before surgery I am not allowed to have anything with red, orange or purple dye in it though so there goes my popsicles and anything put lime or lemon Jell-O. Ok, so there are hardly any calories in all those sugar free things, but I have to admit it helps me feel like I am actually eating something.

I have not found any no sugar added flavored yogurt, so I have stayed away from it, but I did bring some sugar free pudding for lunch today. I was not given Atkins induction as an option, just a list of things I could and could not have.

Unfortunately, my doc says only broth, Protein shakes, and sugar free popsicles. No pudding, pudding pops, yougurt, milk, etc. :o(

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
