Hi Mimo, Welcome to VST! Also, huge congratulations on taking the step to a healthier you!

Have you tried Isopure? It's a clear Fluid stock full of Protein. Very low calories, no sugar and lots of good whey Protein.< /span>

Also, I was allowed to have protein powders of my choosing beginning post op day 5, the only thing was I could only make it with Water, no milk.

All the very best to you. The first few months are the toughest, but you're tougher. You will get through this!

Clear fluids for 2 weeks, really? I was on bariatric clears for 2 days, then full liquids, and starting today can add in things like deli meats and eggs, but this is it for the next 2 months. 2 weeks would be tough, but you're only missing about a tablespoon anyway. :)

Syntrax nectar makes some Protein drinks that mix fairly clear. I have the Roadside Lemonade and Fuzzy Navel flavors (I think they make 5 or 6 flavors) leftover from back in my early lapband days. A scoop or two of the lemonade in a glass of tea makes a fairly convincing Arnold Palmer.

Yeah, Mimo. I know why you're in a bad mood. :) Your body is dumping hormones into your bloodstream as you lose weight. Yes, men have hormones too. :) It will pass...just try not to take it out on your loved ones, so you'll HAVE loved ones when this stage is over. :)

Mimo,

I was hospitalized for 5 days post-op. one day later after being dismissed from hospital, i was on Clear Liquids till now ( so almost a month). My surgeon stressed on Protein drinks immediatly afetr the 5 days. I take "perfect whey protein" (from el ezaby phamacy 2lb vanilla container @350L.E.). Without the Protein i am too weak, and cannot barely move. I also get yogourt, labna, feta chese, 3-4 tea spoons in a meal. Ia also make/drink veggy juices.

Could you share your story ?

Liquid Protein saved me... I got it at Walmart & Meijer. One had 26g & the other 42g... And they are about $2-3 each. Kind of syrupy but only 2-4 ounces...

liquid Protein is the most important of my diet. I take it in the morning with milk and half a banana. I usually have a soft egg 2 hours later.

It seems thought that you have to read the label, because not all Protein Shakes are equal. Once I did not have access to my regular shake, so I found a different brand but it had the same protein amount for tripple the amount of calories, and only have the ounces.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
