Feel Like I Did Something Wrong

Recommended Posts

Well finally had some mushy yesterday and a muscle milk. And this morning scale didn't move. Feel like I'm on the start of failure.

How far out are you like 3-4 weeks? I had a stall too. Even up a couple pounds. Just stuck to Proteins first and keep exercising, it will pass and you will lose again

Hang in there. You can't possibly fail unless you take in more calories than you burn. Stay focused and keep to the basics... you will do fine!

Don't get discouraged. Your weight loss will flucuate as your body heals. You will endure many periods in which the scale doesn't seem to move, but if you are following your doctor's plan and listening to your body the scale will trend downward. Good luck to you and stay positive! YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!

Hope I'm not. Been so depressed all day. Actually thought about just going back to liquids.. plus I'm having a " female issue" so I dont know if that's playing into this

At 11 days, you are still healing. I would encourage you to focus on the healing before the weight loss.

Hang in there.

Don't get discouraged. The same thing happened to me when I transitioned from liquids to pureed/soft foods. The scale didn't move for about a week but my nutrionist said that was expected. Just keep on the program and you will see a loss. Good Luck!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
