Thanks Whoozisanyway....I'm sure I will have many questions for you as my journey continues. I am so exited for you. I can't wait until I'm sitting on the looser bench with you.

Yesterday was my daughters prom and while she was getting her hair done' date=' I found out that her hairdresser is 4 months out. She is doing sooo good. We talked about her sleeve and her experience for a while. That talk just made me realize that this is the right choice for me.

@ Shelley....good luck on Wednesday. We should keep in touch since we are going to be neighborly sleevers.[/quote']

Dina, I just wanted to tell you that a few of my steri-strips came off and I am SO impressed with Dr. Avara! The four small incisions don't look like much more than cat scratches and I don't think I'll have much scarring! Leaving the steri-strips alone on the two remaining larger incisions, they are still a little tender and the strips aren't ready to fall off. He must use surgical glue instead of stitches, even better.

After ten days I'm only down six lbs, but that makes 25 including preop diet, and I just got back from Target where I bought a couple of shirts in the misses' section. Woohoo! I've got other medical issues that have severely impacted my metabolism so I knew this wouldn't be a quick fix, but that's ok. It's all downhill from here.

Are you getting excited?

Thats great news. I haven't shopped in the misses section since I was a teen...lol I can't wait to be on that losers bench with you. I have lost 8 lbs so far...yay!

I am getting excited and impatient. I received an email from Valorie. She has received my psych eval and nutritionist report. She is just waiting on Dr. Avera's dictation. Then she will send to the insurance co. I thought she already sent. Bummer. But hopefully soon. I an sooo ready.

I am happy you are healing so well. hopefully, I will recover as god as you have. Other than the allergic reaction, how was your recovery?

I can't believe how well my recovery has gone. I've been out and about several times, although I'm worn out by the end of the trip. Supposed to return to work on Friday. I've been able to wear a real bra for the last two days, the top incision healed enough that I didn't need to continue wearing a sports bra. Still wearing yoga pants and probably won't be back into dress pants or jeans until next week. I haven't been nauseous or thrown up at all. When I eat too fast or when the sleeve is full, I hiccup a few times, that must be my "warning light", lol. I DO feel a little bit hungry when it's time to eat. The biggest problem I'm having is adjusting my brain to the small amounts I can eat. The fridge is full of half eaten Soups and Protein drinks because I made too much.

@whoozisanyway....I keep forgetting to ask Dr. Avera what size bougie he uses. What size did he use on you?

@Shelly it just gets more exciting each step of the way. Congrats.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
