OH! I've heard of this on other posts!! Let me think, let me think.....Trying to remember if they said meds or.... shoot, I don't remember. I'll search around. If I find anything or remember i'll come back... in the mean time, someone may have the answer!

I had something similar in my cleavage and on my belly, pretty sure it was the surgical tape. It went away after about a week, but call your doctor if it gets itchy or uncomfortable. I think they allow you to take Benedryl if you need it...

Thanks everyone! I plan on calling the doctor in the morning because it is super itchy and raw. It's only on my breasts, it doesn't seem to be in spots where I had any tape.

Ok, I found them. One said her "binder" gave her a rash (didn't have one of those, so I don't know what it is...) one said the antibacterial scrub down they used one her gave her a rash and one said, like these ladies above, that the surgical tape did it. Oh, also one said iodine. If any of that helps.

Thanks everyone for your replies, the doctor thinks I am having a reaction to the pain medication. He tood me to take Benadryl and changed my pain meds.

I too have a rash all over my chest and a itchy back. My opinion is that it's because of the major surgery and shock to r body's ? A bit like wen a child's been I'll they come out in a rash. That's wot I think anyhow :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
