Hi, I was sleeved on Monday morning. Had horrible gas pain and just came home this morning. It hurts when I drink, even small sips. I can't eat Jello because it hurts but I did eat 1/2 a popsicle but that hurt for 30 minutes. Is this normal? I don't know what to do. My stomach hurts. Any advice??

HI, I was sleeved Monday morning also and I was feeling the same way until about noon today. The only thing I've been ale to eat so far is Unjury chicken Soup and Water. The gas pain was horrible and made me throw up almost everything I tried.

I've had a heating pad on my stomach since this morning and it seems to have helped a lot with the gas pains. I have also been taking gas x strips, not really sure if those helped or not.

Hope you feel better!

How does it hurt? Do you think it is gas pain? I found at this stage warm broth was the easiest to tolerate. I agree with the gasx and heating pad. It gets better soon. Hope you feel better soon.

Very normal! Don't push it and just worry about hydration. Try to keep hydrated!

Is it normal to have pain and bloating after a sip of liquid? I am going to be dehydrated if this keeps up. Luckily, my doc gave me a bag of fluids before I left the hospital. Just worried right now.

I am on day 8 post op, and I felt very much of what you are feeling until day 6, when I suddenly started to feel better. That gas is insane, and kept rolling all around making me so uncomfortable. I had to walk around to get Water or the Protein shake to go down. It hurt.

On day 6 (this past Monday) I became able to drink more than 1 oz of a Protein Shake over the course of 1/2 hour. I'm even a tad hungry, and now I am worried I haven't lost my "hunger." Bummer.

I had hell the first few weeks. I'm now just over 6 weeks out and I can get in 3 or 4 good sized gulps at a time without a bit of discomfort. I promise you it gets better- although when I was where you are I didn't buy it!! I didn't believe anyone that it would get better!

My doctor didn't have me sipping Water the first few days (I was on an IV for fluids off and on) but he said I could chew ice chips. I'm wondering if you were to chew on ice if that might be more gradual than sipping? Some have said that when they can't tolerate hot, they can sometimes tolerate cold, and vise-versa...

At seven weeks I still can't tolerate plain Water for some reason.

I've been able to do plain Water since week 3. I think it's because I was put on Sucralfate. Once I was on that plain water was easy!

I was not able to tolerate anything cold during the first week....only room temp or warm liquids. I was also able to tolerate popsicles as long as I did bite them. I would also suggest you walk around a lot if you've got gas pain....it really helps to move the gas out. The more you walk, the quicker your recovery will go. Hang in there!!!....you should feel a little better each and every day. And if you don't, call your dr.

I was sleeved almost a year ago trust be it will get better!! The first few weeks are bad I remember the gas pain And at one point thought I was having a heart attack!! Your body will get use to everything just give it some time and hang in there. Looking back to almost a year ago and it's like the pain was nothing still to this day I don't drink alot of fluids but I have zero problems and can even take big sips!! Just hang in there!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
