chocolate covered potato chips or chocolate covered pretzels are really good! And I'm not a huge chocolate, nor a huge potato chip, nor a big pretzel fan.

But I'd love some chips and salsa and guac right about now. I just wish there were some yummy low fat, low carb chips that tasted good out there. I can only do so much soy...

Doritos and sour cream....

Or some fresh baked pretzels, soft not crunchy, with some cheese and some mustard.

I'm on the pre-op diet of bacteria laced milk and their bi-products! :D

So I basically miss People foods, all people foods...

;) :lunch:  :pizza: :cup:

But I'm hanging in there...:clap2:

Hi Jurema: Boy is it ever nice to put a face to the name. How many days to go now. Like you, I love salt so you have to wean yourself off it. Salt is addictive so that may be why you are having trouble with the pre op. Just a thought. Doddie

Doddie,

6 days and counting... I can't wait. Soon I'll be on the banded side. I wonder what I'll look like in a year and how much more better I'll feel over all. Do we have a canadian before and after pic thread?

Hi Jurema I sent you a private message. Hope you get it. But incase you don't I encourage you to take a before picture and to make a pictorial record of your journey. I am doing it, and I know many others are as well.

Make the first one as unflatering as possible then every 30 lbs. I love your ticker tape. Doddie

You are gonna look hot baby, no doubt about it. With that face, hair, etc. you will do great. We will have to make sure we meet up at TLBC around this time next year. Good luck on May 4th.

Really well. I only took one demerol the nite of and nothing else. Lots of gas. You really must try to walk around to get rid of it. Get lots of chewable Gas X and Rolaids plus gas (they're yummy). I have a hard time taking deep breaths but nurse Nancy said thats normal and to take about 5 deep breaths hold for 10 seconds every hour. Should go away in a few days. I'm on full fluids tomorrow and I can hardly wait, actually, I didn't ...had a yoghurt. Good luck on the 4th. I'll be away for about a week no computer access at the cottage so I'll check in on you next week.

All the best

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
