HAs anyone taken any sort of PMs to help them sleep with a headache or a cold? I'm 5 weeks out and I know I'm to avoid NSAIDs however if I can find a non-NSAID PM, could I take that? Obviously I know the doctors okay is the end all say all I just didn't know if anyone else had experience with this. Thanks! Hope everyone has a spectacular weekend.

Ps. I have lost 3 pounds this week after breaking my stall (:

I have taken advil PM. It settled just fine and gave me a couple nights of blissfull sleep. I am six months out though so I'm not sure if it would be an option at five weeks out.

Hope that helps

My doc said it was ok for me to take Unisom for sleep. I take the generic version. Good job on your loss.

I use Children's liquid Tylenol for any pain or headache. It doesn't work as well as an NSAID, but is better than nothing. You might could try melatonin or Valerian root to help with sleep, those are herbal and don't affect the stomach.

I had my 4 week post op on Wednesday and my doc said pulls were ok now and that Tylenol PM would be fine.

I was more excited to hear I could take a laxative pill though. ;0)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
