Great App For Tracking Food/protein Input

Recommended Posts

I love this app for my iPone. I'm sure you can get it for other HH devices. It's really handy as I'm 1 week post-op and tracking everything that goes in my body. I'm currently in the post-op liquid phase. The app is called "MyFitnessPal". Search for it in your app store. A couple things I really love about this app.

1. There is an option to scan the UPC code on the side of ALL items you eat and it will login the food & all nutrition facts. So, when I have a cup of Greek Yogurt, I simply scan the bar-code & it logs everything in. Really cool.

2. It summarizes your input for the day so you'll know your calories & Protein for the day.

Makes the tracking thing really easy. The app is also for iPad & you can login through your browser to use on all platforms.

Maybe I'm repeating something someone else already mention....but I couldn't find this...so here ya go.

Hope it helps.

I was sleeved last friday and I'm down 28 lbs from the start of my pre-op liquid diet. Excited to be on the journey.

LOL...I added the website you referenced and entered my intake for today and at the end it warned me that I was by no means getting enough calories!! I was sleeved Monday, so nope not getting anywhere near the 1200 calories they recommend. I do like the way it totals it up for me and I can scan the items. Thsnks for sharing. I was using MyDailyPlate, but like this one better.

I use one called "Calorie Counter" & I love it! It has a bar code scanner, all major chains, calculates fat, calories, Protein & Carbs. Has some other cool features that I don't use much.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
