I am about 3 months post-op and have developed a cold. It's more of a cough with a small amount of phlegm.

Can I take regular cold medicine? Is there something in particular that I should avoid? I think I remember someone saying that we shouldn't take aspirin?

Since I have not been sleeved yet, I am not qualified to answer your question. However, I just read in my information, I am allowed to take Tylenol for minor aches and pains. Doesn't help much, I know! This is probably a good question for your dr.

My doctor's office told me any form of Tylenol or products with acetominophen are fine. No NSAIDs & no aspirin though! I know the Tylenol brand makes several kinds of cold & flu relief meds and any Walmart or Walgreens should have their knock off versions. Hope you feel better soon!

You CAN take cold medicines. Avoid ibuprofen, aspirin and Aleve. You can also take sugar free cough medicines, and cough drops- sugar free also. All tylenol pain reliever and Tylenol cold medicines are good.

Yes, ibuprofen is a NSAID...Non steroidal anti inflammatory. They are not nice to the tummy and can cause irritation and ulcers. So make sure that and aspirin aren't one of the ingredients in your medicine.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
