Jeans For Small Waist/big Thighs

Recommended Posts

I'm sure this is a common problem, but clothing stores seem to have yet to catch on to it. I have a small waist and big thighs, and it's very hard to find jeans unless they are stretchy - and I don't like stretchy jeans. I tried on the Sweetheart jeans at Old Navy today - which are apparently cut specifically for "smaller waist, bigger thighs!" and there was still a giant gap in the back. Anyone here know of brands that might fit my body type?

YES!!! I recently found Levis at Macys! They now have this new sizing with three different cuts made just for women! Maybe 4: slight curve, demi curve, bold curve, and I believe supreme curve. They go form least to most curvey. I am like you, bigger hips and thighs and very small waist. I go the bold curve. This was the FIRST pair of jeans EVER, any pair of pants actually, that I did not have to alter in the back!!! They just fit!!!!! I am so hoping they have white jeans for summer. Check them out and post what you think! Maybe other brands will now follow along!!!! Here's hoping!!!!

I long ago gave up and went to mens jeans haha. Besides the larger thighs, I also have a 35" inseam.

Dereon has some nice jeans too - I had bought a couple pair a few years ago and they fit great - they have up to a 35" inseam which is what drew me there. They're also designed by Beyonce so there's room in the thigh even if you have a small waist.

If all else fails, you can take your jeans to a seamstress and she can adjust the waist. Its not too terribly expensive, but I'd find jeans that you REALLY like and have it done.

Thanks, I'll check out Levi's. I've seen their ads, but was skeptical given that all 3 models appeared to be equally ass-less.

Someone on another thread recommended some brand of Wrangler jeans - maybe Aura or something like that? I am going to check out those Levi's at Macy's once I get closer to goal, but until them I'm going to deal with what I can find at Goodwill as I'm sure the Macy's jeans aren't cheap!

Edited to add: I tried the Old Navy "Sweetheart" jeans too and didn't like the way they fit - I ended up with the "Flirt" ones I think, they were mid-rise and fit a little better than the others. They are stretchy though, super tight when I first put them on but almost loose by the end of the day.

I wear the Flirt jean also. ON I love them because I can get in a 4 there. I love /hate Levis.

I tried on those "curvy" jeans. If you have an booty--no go. I tried on the 6 and the 8 and neither fit. I was not willing to try on anything bigger since my mood was ruined.

I went to Kohls and tried on the Levis Classic fit size 6 and WHOLA! they fit over my thighs and rear. So you might want to try that style.

As I guy, I even feel your pain about the thighs in jeans. All of my life, even when I was skinny in my late teens and early 20s (military), I had a terrible time with jeans not fitting my thighs. I have always had larger thighs and very strong "frog legs" so I could never get the jeans to fit right w/o having to go up a waist size....which then presents a new set of ill-fitting problems. I have always been condemned to a larger waist that what was necessary, even as I progressed in size. I guess if that is my worst problem after I get sleeved, I will be now thankful for it!

Hello :) I know you said that you tried old navy jeans, but did you try on a few different styles? I know the ones I always wear is technically not the one that matches my body... same with my mom (who is a completely different shape than I am). Once I found the one that worked though I haven't gone back! I also find that since they are so stretchy I generally am a size smaller in old navy jeans than anywhere else... which always makes me feel good lol :)

Good luck finding jeans!

So I got my Levi's in the mail today from Ebay and they fit great! I had measured myself according to the Levi's website guidelines and it said I was a "slight curve" - the flattest of their fits. I decided to go with my gut and ordered a "bold curve." Lo and behold, it fits like a glove!

Try a brand called PZI. They are designed for curvy women. A friend of mine has a 26 waist with 36 hips and a boom pow booty and swears by them.

What about reverse fit jeans? I had a friend who had an hourglass shape and she got 10R's whenever she bought britches. Yep I said britches. :)

Britches! LOL I haven't heard that since my Grandmother was alive. Those reverse fit jeans look like the old school mom jeans. I think LL Bean has a style like that.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
