Coastal Bariatrics Myrtle Beach Sc

Recommended Posts

Im upset today. The office where I wanted to get the sleeve done in VA said t is actually $23000 and not $17700 which I originally thought.

I'm considering coastal Bariatrics in SC with DR. Morris Washigton because its the next closest ad cheapest place for me.

If anyone has done the sleeve here can you please give me as much detail as possible of what your experience was like.

Thanks

I call that the bait and switch!! The first surgeon I talked to about doing mine did the SAME thing...price during the seminar was 13K then when I went in for the consultation it was 17K not including any of the preop tests..which would have put it well over 19K...I called 50 other surgeons and found Dr. Alanis in Houston...whom personally I think is AWESOME...and his total cost including EVERYTHING is 12K. I signed up and my date is 3/1! I can't WAIT!! 9 more days!

I have a consult scheduled in March. Call the office and ask for Lauren, she's very pleasant to speak with and will give you the specifics. As far as a patient's perspective, there are a few members that have had surgery performed there by him. Mocha is one and she welcomes questions.

I'm having my surgery March 14th with Dr. Washington in Conway, SC. So far everyone has been extremely nice and supportive and willing to answer any and all questions. I went to the facility about 3 1/2 weeks ago and had my endoscopy and met with the nutritionist. I have spoken to 1 other lady that I found on this site who went to Dr. Washington and she had only positive things to say.

Hope that helps. I will be able to provide more details in a little over 2 weeks. Nervous and excited all at the same time!

Thanks for the reply ladies!

FDWife-are you out of state from SC? If you are how will you prepare for the possibility of a complication? I'm in VA so im scared a complication will happen and I have to fly back out to SC. I don't mind doing that but what if it's urgent and I end up going here and having to pay hundreds of thousands in hospital fees?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
