Hello!

Not everyone loses 5-8 pounds a week, and your body is adjusting to a lot of changes. Don't worry too much! Just do what you're doing. It'll come. We're in this for the long haul. I have lost 29 pounds since I began my liquid diet on January 5th. You'll get there!

Holly, Are you still on liquids/mushies? If so, you need to be getting some more Protein into yourself. My doc recommends 64 oz of Water and 70 g of Protein a day. What you posted looks pretty low on the protein scale.

I'm not sure what 2 stones 7 pounds equals in straight pounds (35 pounds?) but that's amazing for under 1 month if I have converted it properly! My only suggestion to you would be to add more protein, because your weight loss is amazing for 1 month!!! :)

I know that around my 3rd week I hit a stall that lasted a little over two weeks. I fluctuated back and forth between two pounds gained or lost and it was frustrating! As yummy as Soup is and as easy as it goes down- sometimes I think it isn't that good for us. We're told not to drink with our meals (which is exactly what you do with most soup) and it's hard to get a soup that has enough Protein. I often wonder that if you take a chili or something that does have more protein if the liquid part flushes it through too quickly..... Idk......

Thank you all so much got on scales today and again havent lost so just busted out on the running machine vibro plate and weights !!! i am determined for it to come of !!! your right i prob need more Protein but not sure how to get it at the min im on puree stage up until weds i lost a stone pre op and a stone and a half (21lb) since the 25th january ... i feel really down with stepping on the scales and not losing weight i guess i shouldnt weigh every day like im doing at the min ?? do you guys weigh once a week or step on the scaled quite frequently ??

I think when your told that you will lose between 5-8 lb a week there is a great expectation from people i dont live with my mum but she is on my back and thinks im doing some thing wrong ??? must admit i do find it hard when my partner is eating all the food i used to love in the house but thats the price i pay i guess - also i ahve had a few glasses of wine with friends on 2 occasions and im sure this is contributing to the lack of weight loss (lesson learnt need to cut out alcohol for a while)

You are all doing so great so a big well done from me and thanks so much for the response !! it is very much appreciated xxxx

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
