Sleeved, Home...day 6

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I was sleeved last Monday 2/13 and i must say all in all things are going pretty smoothly.

I had only 1 day of a liquid diet the day before the surgery. Monday I weighed in 304.6 and down 12lbs as of today. I was in pain after the surgery they gave me a morphine drip, was walking around the next day, no catheter during my stay. I did have problems getting all the liquids in, hospital stay was wonderful they had a sister n father come around each day to pray with you. I was sent home Wed at noon. Slept sitting up in a chair the first night, then in my bed there after. No gas issues, still working on getting all the liquids in doing pretty good with my Protein shakes. Each day is better, had BM day 4 & 6, I'm able to sleep on my side now and walked for 45 mins today 2x. Still some soreness of course, but minimal.

Anyway, just an update on me n my experience I know everyone is different. I'm excited about the journey and my new life. Best wishes to everyone pre & post I can't wait to post before and after pics....stay tuned!!

And I forgot to give a S/O to my surgeon Dr. Fedorka at Kaiser Fontana in So Cal....he was awesome. I'm very pleased with him all around....he made it a point to find my son after.the surgery and speak with him personally to let him know everything went great. The whole Kaiser staff has been great but my surgery was performed at St Bernardines Hospital A+ to them as well.

Glad to hear you are feeling good! The biggest problem for me during the first week post-op was the gas. My shoulders hurt like H***. I couldn't wear anything but very light tunics for 3 days coz of it. And my doctor had to give me some medicines to help me sleep peacefully. I'm so glad you did not have to go through that!!

Hey there! I'm not too far behind you. :) I was sleeved on the 16th.

You are so lucky you only had to do one day of the liquid diet! lol. I had to do two whole weeks. It was torture at times, but overall I think it was a good thing in that it prepared me for all the liquids I'd be trying to drink post-surgery.

You're really lucky you've had no gas issues. That's been my only problem, really. I've been walking more and more every day, though, and it's fading fast, thankfully.

Nice to hear your story!!!! :) Please keep us updated on how you're doing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
