Anyone Here That Get Boils, Or Now After Getting To Goal/near Goal Has Stopped?

Recommended Posts

Hi. I have had reoccuring boils since puberty, and for the most part they don't come as often do to some factors, however for me I know it's hormone/weight related. When I was 192, they were almost non existant. I recently was able to find the actual name of the condition (which has slipped my mind at the moment) but in a nut shell it stated that it's related to hormones, and stress. So, for those who had them before, did they stop once you lost weight?

I really feel for you. I had a freind once several years ago that suffered with that. She was overweight and was in a lot of pain. I would think it would help alot to lose some weight. Have you asked your Dr. or Gyno to prescibe something for it. You poor baby, I feel for you. Healing prayers your way!

My doctor just offered removal of it. They only suggested heat compress. I'm thankful to my change in diet because they are not as bad. Weird thing is after pregnancy they got ten times worst, and were coming more often. After becoming a vegeterian, they don't come as often, but the pain is still an issue. I'm thankful though that it is in one particular place that is painful. In a nutshell weightloss is the only thing that is going to stop them from coming permanently, I would hope. I eventually learned that skinny people get them too. I thought all this tiime that I was the only person afflicted. Thanks for your thoughts. :)

Now that you mention it, I think I have the same thing. The only thing my doctor would recommend was surgical removal and heating pads. They say it was related to my blood sugar being high and my weight. If you can remember the name let me know.

I haven't had my surgery yet, but I will try to update you if I remember!

I get the abcess( boils) under my arms. This a good question because it has been recurring for alomst 10 years for me! I hope losing weight will make them go away forever, only time will tell. My doctor use to say lose weight and you will not get them as much....

I know it was something that I managed to find on Webmd, or one of those doctor pages. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradenitis_suppurativa Found it. Lmao.. Yea, since puberty I had these. The most problem area is under my arms. Took me years of researching and could not find this until I asked publicly in one of my Facebook groups ( I am no longer in) but I am thankful I found the group.

Hello I suffer from HS also... I suggest going to dermatologist as this is a skin disorder.. About 3 years ago I lost about 60lbs and I still had flare ups.. It's might just depend on each person.. With my sleeve surgery so far I lost 70 and still continue to have flare ups.. My dermatologist injects steroids into my armpits and that reduces the tenderness and temporary makes them go away.. In my experience sweating and shaving aggravates it.. Any more info you guys have I would love to learn!!! Also Dial antibacterial soap is good!

I will wait until I lose weight before I get any shots (EEEEK!) Prior to pregnancy it was near my monthly's then after they would come when they felt. Now that I'm a vegeterian they aren't as bad, and don't occur as often. I'd probably get them removed them if they came back. I'd start with one arm, because that just sounds like a painful surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
