jhope - You might 'think' you can drive on meds, but...please for the safety of others, especially that cute little one in your photo, (and yourself) don't! Well, you are in Texas so you have lots of space. I'm here in the congested SF Bay Area and would like to tell everyone please do not drive on our congested highways and roads whilst on meds! (Although I'm certain most are on meds by the way they drive!).

I drove 7 days post-op. You also feel every bump in the road while you are in a car up 2-3 weeks out.

:aureola: I am the last of the baby boomers, from the generation greatest parents to my 5 baby boomer brothers, we learned hard, and we do it right! I can drive on meds! :cheers2:

Yeah - I'm sure that's what the woman who hit and killed my sister and her unborn baby said too.

Just kidding, I love to see the regulars get riled up! Maybe Im the only one who remembers the sixties! Ya, and you need meds to drive in some big cities!HA hA!

Sure do envy you getting to live in the SF Bay area, Glory! That is some beautiful place. The only thing wrong with SF is I dont live there. The only thing wrong with my last trip there was no one was with me. I kept wishing I could say, "Hey look at this..."

My neighbor got drunk and went outside and shot his friend dead a month ago, and another neighbor got under his house to fix a Water leek, and a copperhead bit him several times and he died. A boy the next town over slept with his window open, and a bat came in and bit him, he told his mom he thought he got bit, but they didnt do anything and he died of rabies! My dad was 82 years old, and died while he was driving, and hit another car and killed a real nice man, who was the father of 3 and my age....

Whoa...I think she intended that to be a joke...the smilies and whatnot gives it away.

It is not funny to lose someone like that. My first fiance wrapped herself around a tree when we were 21, 2x over the limit...don't get upset over peoples humor. It isn't intended to be bad.

Girl you know it! If I didnt loose everyone that I ever loved in the last 5 years, let me know, and if I dive into that ditch of grief again, shoot me! Im living in deniel for a reason, it works, and if I am the only one who remembers what the cops did when they pulled a bunch of teens over, well lets just leave it at that. If Im the only one who remembers riding in the car standing up between mom and dad, flying on the interstate, and sliding all over the back seat when they took a turn, into the local ice house...well then Im the only one.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
