ANOTHER fill on Tuesday..why I am not feeling much restriction?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone again, I'm at 5 cc in my 10 cc band now and going for yet another fill on Tuesday. Could everyone please tell me what fill level they're at and if they're feeling restriction at that level and how many hours they feel comfortable after a meal?

I'm at 6.5 cc's and I go for my third fill on August 8th. I felt restriction for about 2 weeks since my last fill on July 5th and now I feel none. I'm hoping that this third fill is the charm. When I did have restriction, it was great and I could easily go 5 + hours without being hungry. Now, I'm hungry after 3 hours.

Yeah, just cause disneynut's at 6.5cc, don't go in telling your Dr. that you need 1.5 more cc's. (although, it probably would be a good amount for you) It's really so different for everyone. You just have to sneak up on it slowly. Does TLBC suggest anything, or are you on your own with deciding how much of a fill you're going to get?

Hey Buffie - just found this thread... you might be interested in : http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=21084

Michelle - it really varies. 17 lbs in 2 months is good. If most of that came off in the beginning or something, then probably not so good. I've only lost 11 in the last 2 months. (but I know I need a fill) If you are eating too much, not full for long, and not losing 1-2 lbs a week for a few weeks in a row, you probably need a fill.

Good Morning Buffie, I don't really have any advice to give you on fills, but man your weight lose is looking great, are you sure you need a fill? You must be losing with alot of willpower still. But your doing great,

i'm gonna say be patient, but I always feel guilty saying that, cause I'm the worst one.:straight

Cloe, you're right, I'm struggling through each day on willpower alone, I'm ready to CRACK. In fact I've cracked a few times now. I feel hungry 2 hours after eating, I'm eating 1 cup of food per meal just so that I don't over do it. I hope tomorrow when I'm at 6 cc I'll feel something. Thanks everyone, what would I do without all of you? :(

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
