Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

Recommended Posts

Finally got tired of people telling me how bad I looked in my clothes, so I decided to do some clothes shopping. I figured I was down to a 36 waist so I went perusing through the store looking for decent jeans and slacks. After 40 mins Im getting a little annoyed as I can't find anything in my size so I decide to leave. On my way out I bumped into a section that had some awesome man gear init. As Im thinking "why do they keep this cool clothes over here? I looked up and saw a sign that said MENS DEPARTMENT. I have been shopping in this same store for five years but I had always went to the BIG TALL section. I didnt even know they had a mens section let alone that I could fit any of these clothes!! Big guys are usually forced to buy according to what they can fit, it felt good to refind my own sense of fashion....looking good ladies!

Isn't it fun to shop in the right department! Yes, you have lost alot of weight and inches. Now the fun is discovering how sexy you look in your new clothes. ;)

Congratulations! Are you going to post a picture of you in your stylish gear? As much as I love Jackie Gleason - I would like to put your real face with your CTFATS user name.

When I no longer needed to shop in the WOMENS section of the department stores(code for PLUS SIZE) or the clothing stores that dealt strictly with Plus Size women's clothing - I had to completely re-learn where to shop for clothes. A FUN thing to do!

Enjoy the fruits of your labor!

Congrats CJFats. In addition to an expanded, more fashionable selection, the clothes generally cost less too!

I've found new happiness in the clothing sections of Target and Walmart. I love wearing tshirts, sweaters, and jeans. Even the cheapest ones look cute on me now!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
