OK, so I am back......

I was writing to Cherrybomb and that got kicked back so I was geting frustrated.

I am doing ok, I managed to hit the -30 mark but now seem to need some help. I had to have an unfill of the .2cc I had earlier in August since I couldn't swallow any pills and was having difficulty with drinks too. I am better and have decided that I need a tiny bit more so I am off to Everett tomorrow so Jessie can fill me onthe first try. I have had a bout of pincushion-itis from the unfill. 5 pokes (3 under the scope) before the Dr. finally was summoned. He handled it on the 1st stick. THe one nurse just can not get me and of course she is the one who is doing the fills in Puyallup. SO off to Everett.....I am tracking that mileage for tax time!

I need to concentrate onthe whole Water throughout the day and then protien first. I have been on a bit of a mixed diet- as in a lot of yum mixed and creamy saucey dishes. chicken divan last week was my undoing and I am sure it this the reason the scale is stuck. Funny how that works, huh.

I like reading that all your kids are packing off to other ends and I am having my own battle of nerves with Kristen starting kindergarten! And another one right behind her next school year. I have a girlfriend from High School that has a Junior at WSU and she is only 9mo. older than me! Nothing like being the old Mommy I guess.

Pinenut

Glad to hear from you. Sorry to hear that they such a hard time finding your port. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a one time deal today.

I know what you mean about being the "old" mommy. I have a three and a 4 1/2 year old. Emma - my 4.5 year old will be starting pre-school in September - just two days a week and I'm already a little nervous. I know she'll be fine, at it's at our church so that helps. I'm more worried about her brother. They've never really been apart so I'm not sure how he'll handle it. We'll have to set up some "special" mommy and son times while she's at school.

Hope everyones doing well. Looks like the sun might shine today - Yippee!!

I was wondering who you all go to for your fills. I just found out my DR in Tacoma is closing it's doors and now I need to find someone close and also reasonable in price.

Yippee! I hit the 50 pounds gone for good this morning!!!! It feels great!!! I am only 6 pounds from my first goal which was to hit the halfway mark and within 8 pounds of my second goal which was to weigh less then my husband. Setting small goals like this really keep you motivated cuz you can see the results.

I saw the orthopedic shoulder specialist today and he said I had two things going on that weren't good. First the tendonitis is still swollen and has caused my shoulder to freeze up. Second, I have a large Calcium deposit that they might have to remove and it will leave a large hole in my rotator cuff so they will have to repair that also. We are going to try some non-surgical things first to break up the Calcium. So they shot my very sore arm with a very large needle of novicane, cortizone, and steroids. Then I went to Physical therapy and had electrical currents ran through the muscles. Is this sounding fun yet? I still can't lift it on my own but the pain is a lot less.

Dawneb and Pinenut - I was 38 1/2 when we adopted out twin girls so all the other moms look very young to me. I like being an older mom, I think I'm much wiser this time around and I am enjoying them much more, and less stressed.

no, but he has done two fills on me and I have two friends that go to him and they have never had a miss by either Oh or Harai.

I live in Bonney Lake. (30 miles south of Seattle)

Dr Earl Fox did my band. I just got a letter that he is moving his practice to the Tri-Cities, BUT Dr. Ross (his dad) will be staying in the area, moving the Tacoma office to Auburn. Dr. Ross is so wonderful, he has been doing weight loss surgery for 35+ years.

The best thing is his charming warm personality. He has done 3 of my 4 fills with perfection and no pain or problems. Then makes me laugh.

Any how.... I have not been on for 7 or 8 months so it is very nice to read the posts and to keep in mind Iam not alone in my journey :)

Bandit - If the pills are small enough, like advil size, then you can still swallow them. I cut some of my bigger pills in half and then they go down just fine. Many meds come in chewable or capsules so just ask the pharmacy about it next time you get them refilled. It hasn't been as big as a deal as they made it out to be in the classes.

THNAKS. yea, they make it sound like they will always get stuck before they disolve. I take one that has a coating for stomach buffer. i hope by crushing it or splitting it doesnt cause the pain. the pharmacy wasnt much help on this either. do you ever put crushed pills in grape juice or apple sauce to buffer the bad taste?

Bandit...

I'm not sure what kind of meds you take, but many banders go off of a good deal of their pre-band meds. Meds for things like diabetes & high blood preasure often aren't needed after surgery. chewable vitamins are in my opinion a must, we all need to make sure we're getting basic Vitamins, and the chewables are easy, cheap and taste pretty good. I did mix a few meds into applesauce to swig down right after banding, but now my pills are eathier small or chewables. They suggest chewable Tylenol, but I just pop the capsules in half, like Wendy mentioned...no problem.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
