Taking Down My Locs

Recommended Posts

Good morning! So, today is my 6 year loc-versary, and yesterday, I started taking them down. This is kind of a big deal, since i have no idea what I'm going to do with loose hair--it's been so long! I guess worst case scenario I can just start a new set of locs--thicker this time. I've been thinking about taking them down for a while, partially because I didn't get the length I was hoping to have by now (I must not be doing a great job taking care of them, or maybe my hair just grows really slowly). The other reason is just that I've been feeling like I'm ready for a change. 6 years is a long time--6 years ago I was still in grad school and a lot has changed since then. Not to mention the changes that are to come when I get sleeved :) Anyway, not sure what I'm looking for in terms of responses, I just wanted to share--maybe I'll post some pictures when I'm finished--right now I have a head full of locs and a chunk of loose hair in the back! Thanks for reading :)

I have been locing for 9 years this month and am thinking about cutting them off also. I didn't have surgery yet but might do it when I lose my first hundred pounds.

I guess I need to take a new pic with my locks and I was wondering if anyone had any problem with Hair loss, Locks and the sleeve?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
