So far, I've really liked Unjury's chicken Soup, strawberry sorbet, and unflavored. Chike Nutrition's chocolate is excellent. (Both brands you can find online.) For ready-made... my absolute favorites have been Atkins Advantage shakes. :) I'm on day 8 of my 2-week pre-op diet, and I have cast my net far and wide to try a lot of the different ones out there in such a short time!

Thanks for asking. Today was my first day of sampling Protein Shakes. I have never been a fan of these drinks but figured i should probably find something that I like. Anywho, i tried Spiru-Tein today and OMG.....couldn't do it. I threw it down the drain and opted for cottage cheese. If anyone knows of a really good vanilla, chocolate or french vanilla Protein Shake, please share.

I really enjoy a Protein shake that i came acorss here at my local health store. It's called 'JEM' it only requires 6-8oz of Water or beverage of your choice and 1 scoop of powder which equals 32 grams ( i get the rest of my Protein from meats and the food i eat considering im 10 weeks out) of protein. I drink the chocolate once per day and once i start working out its recommended to take in two.

Even though I have been told my tasts could change. I am having my sugery on Jan 26th. I have been trying some of the Protein Shakes. So far I like the Pure Protein shakes. I hav etried Chocklot, strawberry, and Vinalla and I like all of them. They have 35 grams of protein, 4 Carbs, and 1 gram of sugar. 160 to 170 calories per 11oz can. I found them at GNC and Trader Joes in Washington state. I was going to buy them on line but shipping made them more expensive than buying them local.

My favorite is "Unjury". They have Protein Powder in flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, strawberry sorbet, chicken Soup, etc. It tastes really good too! To get in Protein when you're in the clear liquid phase I recommend Isopure plus zero carb Protein Drink. They come in 12 oz. bottles, have 40mg protein, and come in flavors such as Alpine Punch, blue raspberry, green melon, etc. You can get Unjury at "unjury.com" and the isopure at GNC.com. My surgery is scheduled for Jan. 23rd. Good Luck!!

I am in love with the Isopure no carb bottled waters. They come in about 12 different fruit flavor and are ready-made. You can get them at GNC or online. They are pricey ($45 for a case

I tried the Isopure and they left a after tast only a slever could love. Dont get me wrong I have some in my fridge and I will drink them after surgery but I am still searching for something without that kind of after tast.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
